Sweet on Elvis.  Concord Branch, Jackson District Library.  7 PM to 9 PM.  Come see this dynamic Vegas-style show for all ages. Lee Piper will sing many of Elvis’s biggest hit songs, performing in costume and even including the audience in the fun. Go back in time for a night of music, dance and fun!  Dress in 50’s attire (if you would like), dance floor open, photo booth, and refreshments!  All Ages Welcome!

90’s Country 90’S Unplugged FEATURING JOE DIFFIE, MARK CHESNUTT, & NEAL MCCOY.  Country musicians Joe Diffie, Mark Chesnutt, and Neal McCoy-Together on one stage! Heart and Vascular Expo.  8 AM to 1 PM, JAXNAZ Church, 3905 Clinton Road, Jackson.  Join Henry Ford Allegiance Health for this free community event and learn how to stay heart-healthy at any age.  Enjoy exhibits, cooking demos, a physician forum and heart-healthy snacks.  Be inspired by keynote speaker Chris Johnson and learn to take small steps to On Target Living for optimal heart health.  Free shuttle service from Westwood Mall/Wal-Mart parking lot (near Finley’s).  Free health screenings.  Prescription medicine disposal drop-off. 

African American Read In Chain.  Join the Jackson District Library and the Jackson branch of the NAACP as we host Jackson’s first ever African American Read-In Chain. We will join the chain of more than 6 million participants across the U.S. as Attendees share stories by African-American authors and enjoy a concert by Kevin Collins, his Kuungana African Drum and Dance company. The format for the Read-In is simple: People from the community come together to read aloud from a piece of African American literature. Short pieces or brief excerpts from longer works are optimal, preferably with a reading time of between a minute or two and not longer than five minutes please. Fiction, poetry, song lyrics and expository writing (all genres) are welcome.  Jackson District Library, Meijer Branch.  12 PM to 2 PM.

Late Night Catechism.  Bring your friends or your significant other to laugh with the indomitable Sister in “Late Nite Catechism 3: ‘Til Death Do Us Part,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Michael Baughman Theatre, Potter Center.  “’Til Death Do Us Part” is the latest class to be unveiled in this sinfully funny series. Critics call it “sinfully, side-splittingly funny!” and “improv at its best!” You don’t have to be married or Catholic to enjoy this hilarious show!” says The Stoneham Press. Have a laugh with the interactive comedy of Late Nite Catechism 3: ‘Til Death Do Us Part.”   Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for students. Kev Nichols and Blue Tuesday.  Kev Nichols and Blue Tuesday return for another night of jams!  Come to watch or get up to jam! How Does My Garden Grow?  Phil Tocco, MSU Extension Educator will speak about composting and soil prep for gardens focusing on composting and soils to help kick start your garden and keep it nourished through out the growing season. Hearts for Haiti Benefit Dinner.  The country of Haiti is in a crisis. The Cornerstone church mission team has had to cancel its plans to serve there this year due to the unrest and safety concerns. However, they still desire to support the mission of “Christianville” in all the valuable work it does.  Come enjoy a spaghetti dinner and give in a donation to the work of this mission. Their work is great and so is their need especially in this challenging time.
