Home & Garden Show.  Home Builder’s Association of Jackson presents the Home & Garden Show 2022, taking place February 25, 26 & 27.   American 1 Event Center, 128 W. Ganson Street, Jackson.  Friday, February 25, 3-8 PM (Ladies Night!), Saturday, February 26, 10 AM – 7 PM, Sunday, February 27, 10 AM – 3 PM.  Come explore over 75 booths showcasing the latest innovations in remodeling, home improvement & building trends to update and upgrade, the interior and exterior of your home. We have something for everyone with exhibitors to help you with your building, remodeling and various home improvement projects. Browse kitchen & bath displays, windows and door displays, home heating solutions, flooring, home services, new builds, and more.  Check out the landscape & garden displays with ideas for all of your upcoming landscaping projects. 

Center Stage Jackson presents Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery.  Dinner Theatre Event at Sandhill Crane Vineyards.  Come join Center Stage Jackson at Sandhill Crane Vineyards for their Annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre event.   February 25th-27th and March 3rd-5th. Tickets are available at centerstagejackson.org and on Center Stage’s Facebook page. This year’s play is called Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery. Try to solve the mystery of why so many characters keep dying during the final dress rehearsal of the play!! This is not audience participation. An Evening with Travis Tritt Solo Acoustic Tour 2022.  8 PM.  Dusty Guitar Promotions and The Michigan Theatre of Jackson are excited to announce that CMA and Grammy award-winning country artist, Travis Tritt, will be returning on Friday, February 25th at 8 PM. Enjoy a special evening featuring the multi-platinum artist in an intimate solo-acoustic setting performing some of his biggest hits, including “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” “It’s A Great Day to Be Alive,” and “Best of Intentions.” The Grand Ole Opry member will also share personal stories and anecdotes about his life and musical influences. “It’s a Coarse, Coarse, Coarse, World”.  7 PM.  Jackson High School Theatre Department Winter Production.  Three coarse shorts world premiere by Jackson playwright by Audrey Febres-Cordero. 7:00 PM Friday and Saturday and 3 PM Sunday at the Jackson High School Auditorium. Tickets are just $5 at the door.

Two’s Day Art Exhibition.  As a nod to the Universe’s punny coincidence of 2/22/22 falling on a Tuesday, we put together the Two’s Day Art Exhibition.  Explore two of the many sides of art with two floors of masterpieces created by 22 Michigan artists.1st floor, 2 years and up, family-friendly.  2nd floor, “22 years and up”, exploring censorship in art.  This exhibit will run for 2 weeks,  daily from 9:22am – 6:22pm.  Art 634, 634 North Mechanic Street, Jackson.

Black Super Hero Showcase.  12 PM to 2 PM.  Celebrate Black History Month by discovering Black Super Heroes of the past and present! Stop by the Carnegie Library auditorium to check out the showcase and enjoy super hero snacks, crafts and a scavenger hunt.  You can also join in our district-wide super hero logo hunt. Stop by all 13 library branches during the month of February to collect all the super hero logos and check out displays with books, graphic novels, movies, etc. starring each super hero.  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library, Downtown Jackson.

Free Bike Maintenance Clinic.  1 PM to 3 PM.  On Two Wheels.  Free bike maintenance clinics! We will start off with, and always include per clinic, flat tire clinics. For those interested, we can progress from there. You need to bring nothing! We will provide all necessary items! Bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn! Rock for Brady with Loa, I Decide I, Repeat. 7 PM.  Benefit Concert.  Brady Haring was in a car accident Saturday, January 29th. Brady is a fighter, but he has an extremely long road ahead of him. Please help us support him and his family by letting them focus more on healing and less on the hospital bills.  Please join us on February 26th, 2022 for a benefit to help reduce the financial burden that the family will surely endure. Jackson Symphony Orchestra presents Mozart & Beethoven.  8 PM.  The JSO perform Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony, which was written as Beethoven began to reconcile the loss of his hearing. The work marks a turning point for Beethoven and is considered by many to be his best symphony! We open the program with Bartók’s rousing Romanian Folk Dances followed by Mozart’s whimsical Second Flute Concerto featuring JSO principal flutist Richard Sherman. Free Tax Help.  Now through early April, you can stop by the Carnegie Library computer lab for free help preparing your 2021 tax returns on the following days and times:

Mondays: 4-7 PM

Tuesdays: 1-4 PM

Wednesdays: 1-7 PM

Saturdays: 10 AM – 1 PM

Jackson’s African American Historical Figures Brought to Life.  1:30 PM to 3 PM.  Second Missionary Baptist Church and YPOP Explorers along with the Jackson County Michigan Historical Society are proud to present, “Jackson’s African American Historical Figures Brought to Life,” in honor of Black History Month.  The free public event will be held at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 304 E. Prospect St., from 1:30-3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27. Light refreshments will be served.  The presentation will focus on the unveiling of church-member Diane Washington’s latest publication, “The Village to Village Traveling Quilt Coloring Book,” which highlights freedom seekers from Jackson’s past and present and on the African American quilt itself. The quilt was produced by Washington and the youth and supporters of her non-profit organization, Young People of Purpose (YPOP).“Jackson’s African American Historical Figures Brought to Life,” will also include special music and youth presentations, as well as brief presentations by Linda Hass, the historical researcher and consultant for the project, and Maurice Imhoff, president of the Jackson County Michigan Historical Society.

Motones vs. Jerseys perform at Potter Center.  Get set for an evening of high-energy music as Jackson College welcomes Motones vs. Jerseys to the stage at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27.  This will be the ultimate 60’s sing-off, and the audience will choose the winner. In one corner are The Motones with white training robes, and in the other corner, in bright red, are The Jerseys. Get ready to rumble! The Motones deliver classic Motown hits from legendary artists such as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The Four Tops, and Stevie Wonder, and The Jerseys pumping out everyone’s favorite hits from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Beach Boys, Dave Clark Five, Herman’s Hermits, and so many more.  This isn’t your typical theatrical experience! The Motones and Jerseys take turns trying to outperform the others. Be sure to bring your phone because audience members choose the “winner” of the performance via a real-time voting app.  This evening of non-stop music will be a delight for every generation! GLPAPA Member Exhibit.  The 2022 GLPAPA Members Exhibit, “A Brush of Fresh Air,” will be held at the Jackson College Art Gallery, located in the George E. Potter Performing Arts center in Jackson, Michigan, from January 27, 2022 through March 31, 2022. The reception is February 27 from 3-4 pm. Regular hours are 9 am to 5 pm., or 1 hour before performances. The building will be closed during Spring Break, March 9-13. Call the college at 517-787-0800 before coming, to assure the gallery is open in case anything changes unexpectedly. We are pleased to announce our juror is Nora Venturelli. Nora is an accomplished studio and Plein Air artist and art educator. She currently teaches at U of M Stamps School of Art and Design.
