Friday Night Out: Neon Glow Party.  Friday, February 3 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM.  It’s a glow in the dark party! Who doesn’t love an energetic party that includes dancing, games and painting. This 2 ½ hours will be jam packed with lots of fun for your kids while the parents get a break for the evening. Space Tonight.  4 PM.  Interested in keeping up with all the cool space happenings? Want to know what Nasa is up to? Does learning more about what’s in space, or how to look for cool things in the night sky intrigue you?  If the answer is yes, then our new show, Space Tonight, is for you! Space Tonight is an informational mash up of big astronomy news, events, and education. Show content changes monthly, so be sure to come check out it every month! Now Showing Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays at 4 pm. Adults: $10, children up to 17: $5, adults over 65 & military members: $8.  Museum Members and Children Under 5: Free.  Admission includes Museum Galleries and Hurst Planetarium Shows!

Sensory Hour at Ella Sharp Museum.  9 AM.  During Sensory Hour, the Ella Sharp Museum will open its galleries at 9 AM, an hour before the museum opens to the public. Families with members who are neurodiverse, autistic, have other sensory processing disorders or cognitive disabilities are welcome to visit the museum for a quieter experience in a more controlled environment. Designated quiet zones will allow visitors to decompress and experience the museum at their own pace.

Jackson Toy Show.  9 AM to 3 PM.  The Jackson show started in 2004 and has grown from 18 tables to over 240 tables of toy collectibles. It’s a one day show where you’ll find everything from NASCAR, Tractors, Dolls, Promos, Hot Wheels, Slot Cars, Model Cars, Star Wars, Action Figures, Movie Posters, Comics, Sport Cards, Matchbox, Trains, Die Cast Trucks, Cartoon Characters, Battery Operated & Wind-Ups, Antique Toys and more!   FREE PARKING – FOOD CONCESSIONS – HANDICAP-ACCESSIBLE.  James J. Big Bob Marley Celebration with One Love.  8 PM.  Detroit’s premiere Reggae band is coming to the Michigan Theatre of Jackson for one night only. Get your tickets, get your favorite drink at the bar, and have a great time with One Love Reggae Band.  Tickets are just $13.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Stargazers of Africa & Keeping Time with the Night Sky.  6 PM.  This is an hour long event sponsored by Jackson College. The first half will be a presentation on how people used the night sky to keep time before calendars and clocks, while the second half will be a showing of Mawakie Public Museum’s Stargazers of Africa. This is a first come first served event up to 50 people. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time.  Price: FREE.  Hurst Planetarium, Ella Sharp Museum.

Rollin’ with Bo – Hearts on Fire!  Veritas, 151 W Michigan Ave, Jackson.  6  – 8 PM.  Tickets are $50.  Love is in the Air!  Join us at VERITAS for one of our most popular events, Rollin’ with Bo!  Everyone’s favorite sushi chef, Bo Keller, will be walking you through how to make three different sushi rolls, each paired with a glass of sake to keep you from taking it too seriously. FAFSA Workshop.  1 PM to 3 PM.  Representatives from the College & Career Access Center will present a workshop with area high school seniors to help them find and complete the necessary FAFSA documents.  It is recommended for students to bring the following items for you and your parent(s):  Date of birth and Social Security number, Driver’s license number, if you have one (student only), Federal 2021 income tax returns, including W-2s, Latest bank statement and record of investment (if applicable), Records of untaxed income (if applicable).  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.

The Imposters Live at Ironbark.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Join The Impostors for an evening of alternative folk, soulful rock and Grateful Dead jams!  Ironbark Brewing Company, 2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Singer-Songwriter Aaron James Wright Live at Grand River Brewery.  6 PM to 9 PM.  Aaron James Wright will perform songs from his solo album, “A Little Stronger”. This may also involve some stomping and growling.  Grand River Brewery, Downtown Jackson.

Live Sessions:  Liv of LVRS.  7:30 PM.  Join us for an evening with Liv (frontperson of LVRS) as she performs two captivating solo project sets for us at Ogma. Art Opening:  Sheryl Amburgey.  Let Sheryl Amburgey’s joyful artwork brighten you up during this gray time of the year!  Sheryl is an artist, teacher and owner of Essa Arts here in Jackson, Michigan. Her colorful mixed media is full of texture and positive emotion needed for anyone in today’s world.  This is Sheryl’s first solo show in 7 years! Let’s celebrate her together here at the winery with live music by pianist, Kelly Heath, from 1-4pm.  Sandhill Crane Vineyards, 4724 Walz Road, Jackson.

Jerome Washington Pop-Up Art Exhibit:  Precious Moments in Time.  Ella Sharp Museum presents Precious Moments in Time: A pop-up exhibit featuring the art of Jerome Washington during the month of February.  Known to many as Mr. Washington the sketch artist, Jerome Washington has dedicated decades of his life to the community of Albion, Michigan through the vehicle of art. Drawing is not just a hobby for Mr. Washington it is his life’s passion!  Ella Sharp Museum.
