Friday, January 10

Carnegie After Hours Game Night.  5 PM to 8 PM.  Enjoy an evening of board games and Magic: The Gathering at the Carnegie Library! You can bring a board game or borrow one of ours to play – just make sure to arrive before we close the doors to the public at 6 PM! If you would like to play Magic: The Gathering, please bring your own cards. Intended for adults. No registration required.  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.

Culinary Class with JACC.  Join the Ella Sharp Museum for a one-of-a-kind culinary experience inspired by Julia Child: A Recipe for Life. Watch the Jackson Area Career Center culinary students bring Julia’s iconic recipes to life with a live demonstration of Caesar salad, Chicken Fricassee, and decadent Chocolate Mousse—straight from Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Indulge in a three-course meal featuring these classic dishes! Doors open at 5pm to tour galleries, dinner will be served at 6 pm.  Registration and event page here.

Grand River Winter Farmer’s Market.  A year-round community-driven market prioritizing fresh local products and Michigan made goods. Fridays 10 am – 3 pm. ood Assistance Programs:  We accept most food assistance programs, including WIC, Bridge Cards, Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB), Project Fresh, and Senior Project Fresh.  You can double your $ when using a Bridge card with the DUFB program ($10 becomes $20).   Found Church, 141 E Michigan Ave., Downtown Jackson.

Julia Child: A Recipe for Life.  Final week! Ella Sharp Museum presents Julia Child: A Recipe for Life, exploring the key ingredients in Julia’s personal journey, which became part of America’s culinary revolution, through a series of immersive experiences. Julia’s insatiable curiosity and tenacious spirit drove her to endlessly try, test, and teach how to make delicious food. Learning empowered Julia and she in turn empowered others, profoundly transforming American cuisine and food culture.  Tuesday – Friday: 10 am – 5 pmm Saturday: 11:30am – 4pm, Sunday – Monday: Closed.  Admission includes Museum Galleries and Hurst Planetarium Shows.  Exhibit runs through January 12.

Seize the Grey – Jeff Footy and Jennifer Yocum Live.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Catch this talented duo bringing a variety of acoustic rock and folk hits to the Ironbark stage!  Ironbark Brewing Company, 2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Saturday, January 11

Knitting Days at Sandhill Crane Vineyards.  1 PM to 4 PM.  Missing wine and wool? You’re invited to warm up the winery on a winter Saturday with knitting and friends. This series of events are to encourage and welcome crafters to gather with friends, fight the winter blues and enjoy a day of learning and creating together! Receive 1/2 off cookie when you join!Every second Saturday of the month: January 11th, February 8th, March 8th and April 12th.  Sandhill Crane Vineyards, 4724 Walz Rd, Jackson.

Paw Patrol Meet & Greet Skate Party. 1 PM to 4 PM.  Character meet and greet, free with regular admission! Join us visiting with Chase, who will take pictures with your child. Door prizes, fun games, and yummy food at our snack bar. Mid Michigan Bridal Show. 1 PM to 4 PM.  American 1 Event Center, Jackson. Calling all brides, grooms, and wedding enthusiasts!
