On this episode of The Future of Comedy Show we are back at the 308 Brass Rail in Jackson with an incredible group of some of the best up and coming comics in the nation. Girl Scout Information and Sign Up Night. 5:30 PM. Families with girls Kindergarten-5th grade are invited to learn more about Girl Scouts in your area! Girls and their families in the Michigan Center School district are invited to come learn all about Girl Scouts and start their journey! This event is open to all girls and their families from Kindergarten to 5th grades who attend Michigan Center Schools and even homeschooled girls! Polar Plunge. 2022 Jackson Polar Plunge at Eagle’s Nest Bar & Grill, 1200 Eagle Point Rd, Clarklake. Event begins at 12:30, Jumps begin at 2 PM. Followed by After Party at Eagle’s Nest. BE BOLD and GET COLD at the 2022 Jackson Polar Plunge! Brave the cold and raise funds to support Special Olympics Michigan athletes and programs. 36th Annual Kiwanis Golf Charity Classic. Tee times 9 AM to 12 PM. Hankerd Hills Golf Course, Pleasant Lake. Pay at the course ($35 for 9 holes, $45 for 18 holes). Bring 2 clubs, street hockey balls provided. Door prizes, 50/50 drawings, trophies. Chili, hot dogs, brats, and more!

Harper & Midwest Kind/Motor City Josh & the Big 3. 7 PM. Big Bluesy Double Bill Night featuring Harper and Midwest Kind and Motor City Josh and the Big 3. Award winning Australian singer/ songwriter/ virtuoso harmonica player “Peter D. Harper”, now based in Detroit, Michigan, USA creates a heady mix of roots music through his creative use of the harmonica, and the haunting drone of the didgeridoo. Harper has won 14 blues awards in four different countries including a Gold Record. MOTOR CITY JOSH AND THE BIG 3 brings the Detroit blues attitude to the stage in Jackson after a five year hiatus. Ella Sharp Museum Exhibit. Diane Washington and Ella Sharp Museum present “Bringing the Village to Life: The YPOP Explorers-Young People of Purpose Story”. Exhibit and program support comes from American 1 Credit Union. What started out as a way to introduce art to youth has become a community outreach movement: YPOP (Young People of Purpose). The exhibition, Bringing the Village to Life: The YPOP Story, is now on display at Ella Sharp Museum and shares the story of Jackson’s Diane Washington and the YPOP organization.
Craftivism: A Creative Approach to Mental Health. Jackson District Library. This program allows teens to take negative thoughts and make something beautiful out of it using watercolors. Supply kits will be available at all JDL branches beginning January 24, while supplies last. An instructional video will be available on JDL’s Facebook page and YouTube channel
