Mighty Naturalist: Nature Painting and Textures Art Class. Nature comes in different forms, and the one we will experiment with is textures using simple natural items, Play-doh, paint, and crayons. Let’s look around to see what textures we can find in the natural world, then we’ll collect a variety of items to take back to the classroom to experiment and discover the fascinating unique impressions and designs with nature’s stampers. It’s so much fun playing and creating colorful nature art. Share your love of nature with your young child(ren). We will explore and play with nature while developing critical early childhood skills and growing self-confidence. The Mighty Naturalist Programs are geared toward children 5 years and younger with an adult caregiver to learn about animals, winter survival, birds, tracks, and more. Jackson College Winter Registration and Orientation. Jackson College will host special hours Saturday, January 4 at Central Campus, Hillsdale and Lenawee campuses for orientation and registration. On Central Campus, student services in Bert Walker Hall will be open from 9 a.m. to noon, with new student orientation, advising and registration. Staff will also be advising and registering returning students. Adrian’s Jackson College @ LISD TECH and Hillsdale’s Clyde LeTarte Center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon with orientation, registration and advising. New and returning students are welcome. Grand Opening. KARMAKNIFE grand opening celebration 5pm-10pm. Karmaknife is both a high end tattoo studio AND an art gallery. We host art of all mediums from both local artists and artists from around the world. What’s special about our gallery is that it takes 0% commission from the artists- allowing them to make 100% of their profits, as deserved. So the grand opening will also be the first set of gallery artists’ opening reception. KARMAKNIFE seeks to provide the growing arts district of Downtown Jackson with a place to get quality tattoos, as well as a community space to share and promote other artists and help them sell their work.
