January 7

“I Never Saw Another Butterfly”. 7:30 PM.  Presented by Lumen Christi Drama.  Based on the true story of the children of Terezin. It is a story of courage, resilience, and hope. Ella Sharp Museum Exhibit.  Diane Washington and Ella Sharp Museum present “Bringing the Village to Life: The YPOP Explorers-Young People of Purpose Story”. Exhibit and program support comes from American 1 Credit Union.  What started out as a way to introduce art to youth has become a community outreach movement: YPOP (Young People of Purpose). The exhibition, Bringing the Village to Life: The YPOP Story, now open at Ella Sharp Museum and shares the story of Jackson’s Diane Washington and the YPOP organization.

Joshua Silas Band.  7 PM.  Fresh original Indie Rock from Chelsea MI area Joshua Silas Band performs at BLUEStage Jams. South Central Michigan’s best sounding live music venue.Food &   beverage available.  BLUEStage Jams, 398 W. Brooklyn (M-50), Napoleon.

Friday Night Skate and Laser Tag.  6 PM to 11 PM.  Allskate Fun Center.  Patrons under the age of 16 without their own skates must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during their visit.  6:00-9:00pm Adm $12, 8:00-11:00pm Adm $12.  $4 for any type of skate rental / Skate Mates $5 + Deposit.  6-11pm Adm: $20 (10 years old and older only after 9pm).  All Music is Censored before 9pm.  Laser Tag Hours 6:00pm-11pm.  Allskate Fun Center 1313 W. North Street, Jackson.

Celebrate Chinese New Year.  Jackson District Library.  Stop by any JDL branch starting January 3 to pick up a kit with crafts and activities for learning about and celebrating the Chinese New Year.  Kits available while supplies last.

Free Bike Maintenance Clinic.  1 PM to 3 PM.  On Two Wheels.  Free bike maintenance clinics! We will start off with, and always include per clinic, flat tire clinics. For those interested, we can progress from there. You need to bring nothing! We will provide all the necessary items! Bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn! K105.3 Wedding Expo.  1 – 4 PM.  American 1 Event Center, 128 W. Ganson Street, Jackson. $5 admission.  Experience Jackson is one of the proud sponsors of the K105.3 Wedding Expo! Stop by our booth and let us help you plan your dream wedding!  There will be lots of amazing door prizes from our vendors worth hundreds of dollars, cash bar, lounge area with games & entertainment, a bridal fashion show at 3:30, and GRAND prize drawing at 4pm!

Mike Wheeler Band – Blues from Chicago.  Saturday, Jan 8, 2022.  Doors open at 7, music at 7:30.  Tickets are $20, cash only at the box office and includes specific seat selection OR online thru this ticket link are $22. Tickets are $25 day of show.  Online ticket purchases are assigned seats from front to back of the room by time/date stamp.  All sales final, no refunds or exchanges.  BLUEStage Jams,  398 Brooklyn Road (M-50), Napoleon.

BSA Troop 424 Annual Christmas Tree Pickup.  9 AM to 4 PM.  Boy Scout Troop 424 will be holding the annual Christmas tree pickup on January 8. The pickup will be between 9 AM and 4 PM by reservation.  The Troop is not planning a general tree pickup with the City of Jackson due to their limited capacity.  Since it is their major fundraiser for the year, you can still make end of the year donations to the Troop by sending them to Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church, ATTN: Troop 424, 606 S. Wisner Street, Jackson, 49203.  Please call to request a pick up of your tree at 517-740-0570.  100% of trees are recycled at Red Egg Farms and used for livestock.

American Legion Post Breakfast.   8 AM to 12 PM.  All you can eat breakfast.  Open to the public.  American Legion, 3200 Lansing Avenue, Jackson.
