Friday, July 10

ORS Race Series:  Grass Lake Traffic Jam’In 5K Run/Walk/Family Fun Run. Join us as we kick off the Traffic Jam’in Festival with a flat, scenic 5k run and 5k walk around the lake and nearby neighborhood. Finish strong in front of our community Events Park Pavilion while listening to live music!  Water station at the 1/2 way mark and refreshments and award ceremony following the 5K.  Music on the course!  Start time for the 5k Run and 5k Walk is 7:30 pm. Grass Lake Traffic Jam’In. Join us in Downtown Grass Lake for the annual Grass Lake Traffic Jam’In.  It’s a music festival, car show, 5K run, family festival and much more!  It’s a free, family-friendly two-day event you will not want to miss! Tonight’s schedule: 5 PM Opening Ceremonies and flag raising, 6 PM Brayden Lape, ORS Runs start at 7 PM, 7:30 PM Brayden Lape, 9 PM Breakdown, A Tom Petty Tribute.  All evening:  Festival food,· Bounce houses, Exhibitors, Kids’ activities & games, Beer & Wine Garden.

32nd Annual Learning Fair.   Join us Friday, July 10th 10:00 am – 5:00 pm for plenty of hands-on events and fun! This event and the activities are free thanks to our anonymous sponsor, and our other generous donors. There is plenty to do for a whole day so do not be in a hurry when you get here. Be ready to enjoy exploring technology, industry, and the arts!  Northwest Elementary School, 3757 Lansing Avenue, Jackson.

Grand River Farmers Market at the Downtown Pavilion. 9 AM to 2 PM.  On Fridays, you can visit the Grand River Farmer’s Market at the downtown pavilion, located in the parking lot of Grand River Brewery. The Friday market is open from 9 am until 2 pm.  With familiar faces, seasonal produce, and local makers, the market is a vibrant place to shop, connect, and support our local farmers. As we look ahead, Grow Jackson is focused on expanding access to local food, creating year-round opportunities, and making every market visit a fun and meaningful experience for all.

Read to a Shelter Cat.  Looking for a fun and meaningful summer activity for your child? Join us at the Jackson County Animal Shelter for our Read to a Shelter Cat program! Children entering 2nd through 5th grade are invited to spend one-on-one time reading aloud to our adoptable cats. Reading to animals helps children build confidence, improve reading skills, and enjoy a relaxed, judgment-free environment. At the same time, the cats benefit from the extra socialization and companionship. Program Dates & Times:  Tuesdays: 12:00–2:00 p.m. and Fridays: 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. (Beginning July 10).  Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3370 Spring Arbor Road.  Each child will sign up for a 15-minute reading session with one of our shelter cats. Palooza at the Falls.  5 PM to 11 PM.  Experience a one‑of‑a‑kind evening at the Cascades Falls! Enjoy live music from JP & The Energy, grab a bite from local food trucks, and sip something refreshing from the beer tent. Stick around as the night wraps up with the Cascades Grand Light Show!

Alice in Wonderland. The Sauk, Hillsdale County’s community theatre, presents ALICE IN WONDERLAND outdoors in Jonesville’s Wright Street Park for eight performances, July 10-12 and 17-19. Saturday, July 11

Grand River Farmers Market at River & Rail. 9 AM to 2 PM.  The Grand River Farmer’s Market is now open on Saturdays from 9 am until 2 pm at the NEW River & Rail Farm Stop, at 137 W. North St., Jackson, MI 49202 (located inside the walls of the Historic State Prison near Art 634). Plenty of parking! 2nd Annual Suicide Awareness and Prevention Music Festival.  1 PM to 12 Midnight.  Join us this Saturday July 11th for our annual Suicide Awareness Festival! Bands will be playing all day, we need you to come to support the cause!  Lineup includes Cat Canyon, The Mark Arshak Band, Spellbound, Echovibe, Stray Shot, Mojo and the Outlaws, and Leadfoot with special guest Debra Lyn.  50/50 drawings, guest speakers, merchandise, food and more.  $10 donation at the door.  Gauci Golf Resort, 8421 Sports Park Drive, Onsted.

Cascades Humane Society Blooms & Brews.  3 PM to 7 PM.  Join for for an afternoon of Paws, Petals, & Pours.  Presented by Omni.  The exciting summer gathering will include live music by Steve and Brian Tucker and Phil Wrzesinski,  Beer and wine tastings,  Delicious food from Tiki Sam’s Pizza and Happy Camper Cafe,  Local vendors and unique shopping opportunities.  $35 tasting ticket, $15 non-tasting ticket.  1515 Carmen Drive, Jackson.  Tickets and event page here.

Brayden Lape Concert.  3 PM to 6 PM.  Come see Brayden Lape. He was top 5 finalist on Season 22 of The Voice. He is performing with his band at the Irish Hills Eagles on July 11, 2026. Doors open at 3pm concert begins at 4pm and will go until 6pm. There will be an autograph session also. It is open to all ages. There will be a cash bar for adults with ID. Cascades Rotary Bandshell Summer Concert Series.  7 PM.  Spend your summer Saturdays with us at our FREE Concert Series, proudly sponsored by Alro Plastics! Every week brings a new vibe — from local legends and fresh new bands to solo artists and big groups, rocking everything from country and rock to soul and blues. When the concert ends, keep the night going- head over to the Cascade Falls and catch the Grand Light Show — the perfect way to wrap up a summer evening.  Tonight’s concert by Bill Moran.

Root Station Band at Ironbark Brewing Company. 7 PM to 10 PM.  Summer is in full swing, and we’re ready for a solid night of classic rock, good company, and great craft beer. If you’ve caught our shows before, you know our signature sound—we keep the mix tight and the volume right where it belongs. Sunday, July 12

Church in the Park.  10 AM.  All are welcome at Church in the Park!  Bring a lawn chair or blankets and sit on the grass (friendly pets welcome!) The mobile pulpit and live music will be set up at the base of the Cascades hill, on the north side of the Cascade Falls near the amphitheater. Visitors should park in the parking lot on Concourse St. off Brown, where you would park to go to the amphitheater or picnic shelter. Bulletins and music will be provided by ushers at the entrance to the parking lot. If there is inclement weather, a decision will be made by 8:30am. Concord Farmers Market. Sundays, 11am-2pm, June – October.  Gottschalk Park, 420 Homer Rd, Concord.  The Concord Farmers’ Market exists to cultivate community, support local growers and makers, and increase access to fresh food and meaningful goods.
