Friday, July 18

Hot Air Jubilee.  The main focus of the Jubilee is obviously the Hot Air Balloons, however that’s not all there is to enjoy. When you and your family come to Ella Sharp Park during the event you will be greeted by some longtime Jubilee favorites such as Craft booths, the Kids Kingdom, Vendors, and an Auto Show. Being at the park this year offers a whole new set of opportunities for you to experience the Hurst Planetarium, Ella Sharp Museum, and the Mini Golf Course.

Friday, July 18

• 6:30 – 7:00am – Morning Launch (USWNC)
• 3:00 pm – Hot Rods and Hot Air Jeeps at the Jubilee
• 3:00 pm – Festival Opens – Entertainment Tent, Helicopter Rides, Food Vendors, Sponsor Tents and Official Jubilee Merchandise
• 4:00 – 8:00 pm – Kids Kingdom
• 7:00 pm – Evening Launch @Ella Sharp Park (HAJ)
• 7:00 pm – Evening Launch (USWNC)
• Dusk – Night Glow @Ella Sharp Park (HAJ pilots)

Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  Seasonal veggies & fruits, fresh flowers, meats, cheeses, breads, sweets, and all kinds of other wonderful things! Corner of Mechanic and Glick, Downtown Jackson.

Late Night Friday with Live Music by Bret Maynard. 6 PM to 9 PM.  Enjoy live music by Bret Maynard on this Late Night Friday. Playing versatile rock, country, pop, and folk hits from the 60’s to today. Bringing the best tunes to events across Southeastern Michigan! Ironbark Brewing Co. presents Dennis O’Hagen’s Great Brewery Tour. 7 PM.  Now in the 7th year of their perpetual national tour, which has been touring the US playing more than 850 craft breweries from coast to coast since 2018, Dennis O’Hagan teams up with his son, Freak Mythology’s Brad Wehlitz, for a series of shows as a duo. Both artists are multi-instrumentalists and will trade off on guitar, bass, mandolin, lap steel, bouzouki, harp, and percussion, as well as harmonies, in upbeat, rootsy, classic rock, traditional Americana and Celtic tunes, punk folk, and eclectic covers that you won’t expect to hear, but will love. 5th Annual Jackson Interfaith Shelter Block Party.  11:00-2:00. FREE community event. Join us for:  Food served by MyPlace. Live music by BIG L & Code Blü.  Foam party, Inflatables, Face paint,  Flower crowns with Gwen’s Greens,  Reptiles with Belynda,  Ice cream by Amanati’s Frosty Boy.  Fun activities with Jackson Police Department.  Vietnam Vets open house …and more! We will be hosting guided tours of the shelter throughout the event, and would love to show you the updates we’ve made over the last five years.  414 S. Blackstone Street, Jackson.

Blooms & Brews. 3 PM to 7 PM.   CHS, 1515 Carmen Drive.  Cascades Humane Society invites you to join us for Blooms & Brews – where wine, beer, and wagging tails come together!  Sip on local wines and craft brews, browse unique finds from local vendors, and meet some adorable, adoptable pets looking for their forever home. It’s the perfect way to unwind while supporting a great cause.   Bring your friends, shop, sip and maybe even fall in love with your next furry companion. Don’t miss the paws-itively fun event on Saturday, July 19 from 3-7pm.

Carbon Decoy Album Release Show at Ogma.  6 PM to 10 PM.  The Carbon Decoy boys are back and dropping their best album yet, Crush the Sun, and bringing the boom with a live set that’ll leave your bones buzzing. Support from the sonic wrecking crews: Sleeper Pool, Squirrel Cage, and Cassette Tape Fiasco.This is a do-not-miss night of riffs, sweat, and straight-up fury in the Ogma Beer Garden. Free show. Music starts at 6 pm Be there. Be loud. Ogma beer tent will be set up in the garden and you know we’ll be pouring some heavy hitters.  129 E Michigan Ave, Jackson.
