Grand River Farmers Market.  Senior Day at the Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  Many services and vendors will be on site serving seniors.  Boos Center program activities will be held at the Grand River Farmer’s Market for Senior Day:  Movement Matters (cardio-dance) class:  9:30 am to 10:25 am;  Sit & Stay Fit (cardio chair) class:  10:40 am to 11: 25 am;   Line Dancing (beginner) class:  11:30 am to 12:00 pm;  Tai Chi (demo) class:  12:15 pm to 1:15 pm.  The Grand River Farmers Market is a community-driven market prioritizing fresh local produce and Michigan-only homemade & artisan goods.  Open Fridays and Saturdays, 9am-2pm throughout the summer into early fall. The Grand River Farmers Market is located in the parking lot of Grand River Brewery at the intersection of Louis Glick Highway and Mechanic Street. NEW: Rotating food trucks and music on select days.   Vendors, artisans, and performers.  117 W Louis Glick Hwy, Jackson.  

Vineyard Jams:  Friday and Saturday Music.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Join us this Summer for the return of our Friday & Saturday night music series: Vineyard Jams.  Every Friday and Saturday evening (Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend) from 7-10 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best bands in the area. From rock ‘n roll, to blues, and country and pop, there is something for everyone. Beer, Wine, Wine Slushies, & Cider.  Rotating Food Trucks.  Limited Cafe’ Menu.  Open to all ages. Great music and fantastic food trucks!   Friday:  Midnight Stew and featured food truck Whiskey Jack’s BBQ.  Saturday:  Big L and Code Blu and featured food truck Double T Foods.  Cherry Creek Cellars, 11500 Silver Lake Highway, Brooklyn.

Corey Kent Concert.  6 PM.  COREY KENT with special guest JACOB MORRIS.  The Chase Sports Bar, 105 E Michigan Ave, Jackson.  Country’s Newest Crop Concert Series Featuring:

First Fridays in Downtown Jackson.  4 PM to 7 PM.  There is no better way to kick off the weekend!  Come and join the retailers and businesses of downtown Jackson for the First Friday of every month for some shopping, sipping, and dining. They will have a different theme for each month starting with Red, White & Blue for July.  Each purchase made at a participating business gets you entered in a drawing for prizes! Must be present to win, locations for drawings will vary based on event.

Catholic Charities Zero K Fundraising Event.  Who said you need to run a 5K to raise money for a good cause? Join our Zero K fundRACEing event and help us make a difference! No training required, just bring your enthusiasm and support. You and your friends can register to participate in the virtual race taking place July 7th -27th by going to JustGiving.com. The top fundraisers will win the race!  Find out who raised the most when you attend our in-person event on Friday, July 28th to enjoy a fun evening while making a difference and supporting our work. Kevin Krieger Live at Ironbark.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Catch a solo evening with Kevin Krieger as he brings his saxophone magic back to Ironbark! Covering a wide range of classics, funk, and fusion tunes, it’s always a blast to have his talents at the brewery!  2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Southside Summerfest Heal the Hood Jackson.  11 AM to 6 PM.  There’s an Art to healing, restoration, and peace. On Saturday, July 8, the Southside Summerfest will focus on Healing in Jackson Michigan and an end to violence within our community.  Elnora Moorman Plaza, 152 E High St, Jackson.  #SouthsideFestivalSeries is proud to present its 5th Annual Summer Fest series at the historic Elnora Moorman Plaza at the corner of E. High Street and S. Milwaukee Street where live Music, Merchants, Food, Businesses, Organizations and more all gather in celebration of the rich history and culture of the Southside community.

Lavender Festival.  11 AM – 6 PM.  Nellie’s Lavender Estate, 10405 Sharon Valley Rd, Brooklyn.  Experience a small working lavender and herb farm in FULL BLOOM. Summer is arguably the best time in Michigan and we are excited to host a full line up of vintage market, artisans, crafters, food vendors, farmers market and more.  Get an opportunity to be up close & personal to meander through our walking paths, see bees in action, pick your own lavender for bouquets or crafts, enjoy culinary lavender products, sample collaborative partnerships of Nellie’s and more!

Lavender Fest:  Farm to Glass with Ironbark Brewing Company.  1 PM to 7 PM.  2610 Kibby Rd, Jackson.  Nellie’s Lavender Estate, Ironbark Brewing Co. and Diffusingpeace: Benefits of Essential Oils, Reiki & Yoga presents FARM TO GLASS WITH IRONBARK BREWERY CO.  This event coincides with IronBark Brewery’s lavender pale ale release.  Vendors, refreshments and featured artists.  Event page here.

Bigfoot:  Beyond Books with Local Investigators.  1 PM to 5 PM.   Does Bigfoot fascinate you? If so, join us at the Carnegie Library on July 8 for a presentation by Michigan Bigfoot enthusiasts Gabe Heiss and Bob Daigle.  Bob will present from 1-3 PM and Gabe will present from 3-4, followed by a Q&A session.  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.

Presentation:  Michigan in the Mexican War.  2:00pm.  US. Army Colonel (Ret.) Paul Scheidler will present “Michigan in the Mexican War” a look at Michigan’s regiments and involvement in the 1846-47 War with Mexico.  Museum admission applies.  Michigan’s Military Heritage Museum, 311 N. Wisner St., Jackson.

Michigan Hydroplane Racing Event.  JULY 8 & 9, 2023.  Michigan Hydroplane Racing Association (MHRA) brings 2023 APBA Region Six racing to Grass Lake from approximately 10:30am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.  Grass Lake, Grass Lake, MI.  Michigan Hydroplane Racing Association’s race programs are administered by some of the nation’s top competitors as well as past and future Hall of Fame drivers in an exciting experience in the world of Stock Outboard Racing. Artisan Crafters Event.  9 AM to 4 PM.  There will be Bug Guy Concessions as our food truck and some live entertainment, as well!   No fee for admission, plenty of parking, and more importantly, GREAT items that will be presented for puchase at this event!    Con’t miss this wonderful opportunity to support local crafters and the Brookside United Methodist Church!  Brookside United Methodist Church, 4000 Francis St, Jackson.

Rockin’ at the Rail.  8 PM.  Renegade Train.  Another night of food, drink and your favorite light to heavy rock tunes with friends and family.  $6 cover.  308 Brass Rail, 308 West Prospect Street.

Musique Noire at Art 634.  6 PM to 9 PM. ART 634, 634 N Mechanic St., Jackson.  Come out and see Detroit’s award winning Musique Noire at Art 634. Doors open at 6PM and tickets are $20.  Musique Noire are remarkable jazz artists who incorporate diverse ethnic sounds into their music. Sunday, July 9

Vista Grande Villa Summer Concert Series.  6 PM.  Please join us for the rock and jazz stylings of Bob Skon at Vista Grande Villa on Sunday, July 9 at 6:00 PM!  Each concert of the Summer Concert Series will be at 6:00 PM on the Grande Room Patio at Vista Grande Villa.  Free and all are welcome!  Vista Grande Villa, 2251 Springport Road, Jackson.

Music in the Bowl-Community Concert Series.  4 PM to 6:30 PM.  Presenting The Velascos.  Bring out a lawn chair or blanket and join us in our beautiful “Bowl” or back parking lot for a summer community concert series. We want to support our communities and local artists and hope that by providing this opportunity, we can come together for great entertainment, conversation, and getting to know our neighborhood again.  A suggested donation is $5 for each performance. Restrooms are available, and there will be refreshments available to purchase.  This event is meant to be outdoors but will be moved inside if there is in-climate weather.  We hope to see you there!  Arbor Grove Congregational Church, corner of McCain and Spring Arbor Roads, Jackson.
