Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  The new season is underway at the Grand River Farmers Market, corner of Glick and Mechanic, Downtown Jackson.  Farmers, vendors, artists, food trucks, demonstrations and more all season!  SNAP, WIC, DUFB, and Project Senior Fresh.

Juneteenth Community Celebration & Resource Fair.  Today’s featured event:  “Sign of the Times” directed by Lisa Williams.  7 PM.  “Sign of the Times” is the name of the play written by local playwright, Lisa Williams. We are picking up where we left off a year ago, as we present BNE news and a family tackling the issues of today with a 70’s vibe.   This powerful drama explores the Black Experience in the 21st Century.  The performance features the music of BIG L (Larry Sumner) and a seventies vibe that is sure to move you.  Michigan Theatre of Jackson, 124 N. Mechanic Street, Jackson.  6:00 pm – Doors Open, show at 7 PM.  Free!

Vineyard Jams:  Friday and Saturday Music.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Join us this Summer for the return of our Friday & Saturday night music series: Vineyard Jams.  Every Friday and Saturday evening (Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend) from 7-10 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best bands in the area. Straight from a Country song – two guys meet and start a band, realize the same girl broke their heart, and then make a spur-of-the-moment decision to hop in a car fueled on neon dreams en route to Nashville – but no, this is the real-life story of LAKEVIEW.  JASON CROSS is a country rock artist who embodies the perfect blend of edgy style and country swagger. Gear Up:  The Science of Bikes.  New exhibit now open at Ella Sharp Museum.  From schoolyards and mountain trails to bustling city streets, we encounter bicycles nearly every day. Since its inception in the late 19th century, the bicycle has affected how people live, work, and play. Its popularity has only grown over time, and it is as relevant today as it was 100 ago.  Visitors of GEAR UP will learn how bikes work, the science and technology behind the machine as well as the history and evolution of the bike and how bikes have impacted our culture.  Like the bicycle itself, this exhibition has been designed to appeal to people of all ages with diverse interests, from STEM to design to history to art.

Jackson Rose Run.  7:30 AM  The ORS Running Series presents The Jackson Rose Run.  Jackson College (Jets Hangar) Central Campus.  RACE WEBSITE HERE.  Celebrating Our 52nd Anniversary.  Presented by Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists Physical Therapy, Experience Jackson, JTV, and M&K Jetting. 10 Mile run @7:30am,  10K @ 8:00am, 5K Run @ 8:01am, 5K Walk @ 8:02am.  Proceeds benefit Jackson College Women’s Soccer Team.

4th Annual Al Glick Youth Football Camp.  The 4th Annual Al Glick Youth Football Camp is Saturday, June 17th at Dungy Field at Withington Stadium at Jackson High School.  Open to Jackson County Kids entering 4th through 9th grade this Fall, this one-day camp will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with check-in at 9.    Kids get breakfast and lunch, non-contact instruction by current high school coaches, former Collegiate & Professional players, and a drawstring gift bag with a camp t-shirt.  Register your kids today by visiting the Camp Facebook page, or in person at the Jackson Recreation Department, 161 W. Jackson College Summer Concert Series:  Trombonefest.  7 PM.  Free! Celebrate Father’s Day on June 18 with the 39th Annual Trombonefest at 7 p.m. at Potter Center. Don’t miss this unique musical event when trombonists come together for a night of great music! This is part of Jackson College’s Summer Music Series, taking place on the back patio of the Potter Center.  Concertgoers are welcome to bring lawn chairs for the outdoor performances, while some chairs will be available. All concerts are free and are guaranteed – they will move indoors in case of inclement weather.
