Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  The Grand River Farmers Market opens for the season this weekend!  Come check out the vendors, farmers and fun activities that will be featured throughout the season.  SNAP, WIC, DUFB, and Project Senior Fresh.   Corner of Louis Glick and Mechanic, Downtown Jackson.

DJ Session:  Whoa Whoa Yeah Yeah.  8 PM to 11 PM.  Get ready to vibe with us as DJs Carlos and Liz from “WHOA WHOA YEAH YEAH” spin some feel-good jams. Join us from 8pm ’til 11pm. Vineyard Jams:  Friday and Saturday Music.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Join us this Summer for the return of our Friday & Saturday night music series: Vineyard Jams.  Every Friday and Saturday evening (Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend) from 7-10 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best bands in the area. From rock ‘n roll, to blues, and country and pop, there is something for everyone. Beer, Wine, Wine Slushies, & Cider.  Rotating Food Trucks.  Limited Cafe’ Menu.  Open to all ages.  Jun 2: Big Foot Bob & The Toe Tappers.  Featured Food Truck: Tiki Sam’s Wood Fire Pizza.  Jun 3: Kung Fu Diesel.  Featured Food Truck: Double T Foods.  Cherry Creek Cellars, 11500 Silver Lake Highway, Brooklyn.

Cooper Young Live at Ironbark.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Catch an evening with the groovy blues and folk of Cooper Young!  Ironbark Brewing Company, 2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Kids Planetarium Show Imagine the Moon.  12 PM.  When was the last time you looked at the Moon? Not Just noticed it, but really looked at it? To most of us the Moon seems like an afterthought, a thing we might notice in passing and then not give a second glance. But the Moon’s place in our lives is so much more than just its physical presence in the sky. It is a constant companion in our collective imagination.  Hurst Planetarium, Ella Sharp Museum.

Saturday, June 3

Paws in the Park.  10 AM – 3 PM.  Paws in the Park 2023 Presented by Lammers at Cascades Park.  Cascades Humane Society’s Paws in the Park event is back, featuring Ultimate Air Dogs – premier dog dock diving!  Join us for our annual Paws in the Park event! We will have our chip-timed 5k, a shorter 1-mile-mile ‘Woof Walk,’ and a Doggie Dash just for kids! Food will be provided by the Jackson Breakfast Rotary. Come and watch the Ultimate Air Dogs and their premier dog dock diving. Get involved and sign up to jump your own dog! We’ll also have raffles, games for the humans and canines, vendors, a petting farm and pony rides, and more fun at a family-friendly and safe event focused on raising money for abandoned pets and programs at Cascades Humane Society!  All registered participants will receive a Paws in the Park t-shirt and a swag bag from our sponsors! In addition, all 5k participants will receive a unique finishers medal or another comparable item. (Doggie Dash kid participants will receive a paw print medal.)  Details and registration here.

Sensory Friendly Chamber Concert.  6:00 PM.  WEATHERWAX HALL.  FREE ADMISSION.  This sensory-friendly concert experience has been designed for those with sensory sensitivities, including neurodiverse audiences, and those with communication, movement, and learning needs.  The Jackson Symphony Orchestra is launching a new free concert experience in our concert hall located in downtown Jackson, MI. Upon entering the JSO, attendees will be greeted with the soft sounds of the harp prior to the concert. This concert features the softer instruments from our orchestra performing as a small wind instrument ensemble and a string instrument quartet. These instrument groups will alternate throughout the performance, sharing their unique sounds with our audience in a lower-lighting setting. Attendees will be free to sit or roam as the music is performed.  Accommodations available at this concert will include but are not limited to abundant handicap-accessible seating, quiet rooms, medium quiet rooms, standing room, and additional viewing areas, as well as items like scarves, fidgets, ear plugs, and headphones. The Stables Bride to Bride Event.  10 AM – 4 PM.  The Stables Bride to Bride Sale.  FREE EVENT.  9011 N Meridian Rd, Pleasant Lake.  SupaDesigns and The Stables are partnering up to host our first Bride to Bride Sales event! The purpose of this event is to help past brides sell their gently used wedding items and décor, while helping brides-to-be find the perfect items to make their wedding even more magical. Not only will there be brides selling items, we are also having Wedding specific vendors. Once we get closer to the event date, we will be posting a list of the professional vendors.

Sunday, June 4

Jackson County Rose Parade.  1 PM.  Pack up your chairs, blankets and family for the 2023 Jackson County Rose Parade, brought to you by Art Moehn Chevrolet Honda. The 2023 event is taking place on Sunday, June 4, 2023 in beautiful downtown Jackson, MI, starting at 1:00 pm. This year’s Grand Marshall is musician Brayden Lape leading the parade. The theme is Home SWEET Home. Watch for JACK the Elephant in the parade and get ready to wave as he rides by on the Experience Jackson truck!  The parade route will begin at Blackstone Street, traveling east on W. Michigan Avenue, concluding at One Energy Plaza. 

Jackson County Sheriff Open House & Fun Fest.  Noon-4 pm.  Jackson County Courthouse Parking Lot, 212 W. Wesley Street, Jackson.  FREE ADMISSION & ACTIVITIES.  Food, Face Painting, Dunk Tank, 3-Point Contest, Foot races with the deputies.  Come meet the members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and participate in these free, fun activities!

Zionfest.  NOON – 4 PM.  Zionfest at Mt. Zion Church Of Deliverance, 208 E Franklin St, Jackson.  FREE EVENT.  ZIONFEST is a Family fun festival that centers around clean family engagement and interaction. The event illustrates the Love of Christ in a fun non-evasive way, with emphasis on community, unity, and fellowship.

Enchanted Festival.  8:30 AM – 4 PM.  Enchanted Festival at Crabtree Kiss, 106 S Main St Suite 3, Brooklyn.  Fun filled day with a Fairy Door Scavenger hunt.  Magic Potion Sand Art.  Paint 3D dragon/Bird house, create magical wands,  DIY Butterfly/Bug Night lights. Tink the magic show and face painter and so much more.
