Downtown Jackson Food Truck Fridays and Cruise In.  Downtown Jackson is the place to be this summer. Come hungry for lunch or dinner! Enjoy street-lined Food Truck setup for both lunch and dinner times in downtown Jackson, hosted by the Jackson Downtown Development Authority. These events are paired with the Cruise-In and Concert Series in Downtown Jackson in the evenings. Friday, June 27 (11 am-2 pm & 5-8 pm).  Tonight, Hot Dog Eating Contest at One Jackson Square and Concert at Horace Blackman Park.: 5:00 PM – 8:00.

Community Exchange Building Open House. The Sparks (formerly the Commercial Exchange building in Jackson offers a diverse range of multi-use spaces in three beautiful 19th-century buildings packed with history. The building is located at 2301 E. Michigan Ave., Jackson.  You are invited to an Open House and community event on Friday and Saturday, June 27-28, 2025.  Friday hours are 4 PM to 10 PM, Saturday hours are 11 AM to 7 PM.  Building tours, food trucks, car show, live music, meet the vendors, open artist studios and more!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame.  7 PM.  Presented by Center Stage Jackson.  Prepare to be swept away by the powerful music, haunting beauty, and timeless story of The Hunchback of Notre Dame – brought to life by an incredible cast and crew at Jackson College’s Baughman Theatre. Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and the Disney film, this sweeping musical features songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, unforgettable characters, and a story that resonates through the ages. Red Cross Blood Drive. 9 AM to 2:45 PM. Please help save lives! At this drive, not only will your donation help save lives by providing blood, but it will also contribute to raising funds for suicide prevention awareness throughout Jackson County. Crafts and Market at the Cascades. 10 AM to 2 PM.  Crafts & Market is back for its second year — and it’s bigger and better than ever!  Come shop a vibrant selection of local artists, vendors, and businesses.  Saturday, June 28 | 10 AM – 2 PM.  Cascades Park.  FREE entry for all — don’t miss it!

Jackson County Master Gardener Association 2025 Garden Tour. 10 AM to 4 PM. This is “Our Biannual Garden Tour”, that we host as a fundraiser in supporting us as we provide education and beautification throughout our community at such organizations as The Dahlem Center, Hospice House, Jackson County Fairgrounds, Green Thumb at The Crouch Center, Jackson Library Planters, Grass Lake Depot, Earth Day and YPOP (Young People of Purpose).  Tickets, map, locations and event page here.

Ducky Derby 2025.  Relay for Life of Jackson County presents the 2025 Ducky Derby.  Activities start at 12 PM, ducks run at 1 PM.  McCourtie Park, 10426 S. Jackson Road, Cement City.  Come and join in the fun at this free public event.  Purchase a duck for $5.  Prizes include more than $2,000 in cash and other prizes.

Comedy for a Cause.  7:30 PM.  The Michigan Theatre of Jackson is proud to present Comedy for a Cause featuring Monster Box Improv on Saturday, June 28 at 7:30 PM. This high-energy evening of original improv and laughter is a Pay What You Can event. Every dollar raised goes directly to summer theatre camp scholarships for local youth—making the performing arts more accessible to our community’s next generation of storytellers. 100% of profits support kids’ performance arts education. Our summer camps, launching in July, are led by seasoned actors, directors, and technicians, giving young performers hands-on experience in the world of live theatre.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown.

The Cascades Rotary Community Bandshell Summer Concert Series.  7 PM.  Tonight, enjoy the music of Root Station.  They will bring some awesome classic rock cover songs that all ages will love!  Free!  Sponsored by Alro Steel.

Meet Immanuel – A Community Open House.   2 PM to 4 PM. 1505 W. Michigan Avenue (@ Brown Street).  ‘If you haven’t met us, visited the Food Pantry, or heard the “church with the bells”, come & check us out! “Fun kids activities” including face painting, giant bubble making, crafts, and caricature drawings.
