67th Annual Michigan Center Lions Carp Carnival. Fun filled days with carnival rides, games, food vendors, fishing contest and beer tent with live music from local bands. Admission is free. Rides, you can either buy wrist bands before the event at area merchants or at the carnival.  Downtown Michigan Center. Paper Lanterns in the Ogma Beer Garden.  7 PM to 9 PM.  Join us in the beer garden as Michigan’s own Paper Lanterns bring two hours of punk rock ’n’ roll to our outdoor stage! They’ll be playing two live sets while we pour beers from the outdoor tent and have some garden games set up. We’re looking forward to kicking off summer with you—loud, fun, and full of good vibes! 40 Years in the Hood:  The Detroit Heidelberg Project Exhibition at Ella Sharp Museum.  Witness an extraordinary exhibition curated by renowned Detroit-based artist Tyree Guyton, whose work has transformed the art world and inspired communities for over 40 years. Tyree Guyton is best known for his iconic Heidelberg Project, which has turned discarded objects into powerful symbols of community, resilience, and hope. Thank you to the Charles Aymond Foundation and Arlo Steel for sponsoring 40 Years in the Hood: Detroit’s Heidelberg Project. Thanks to The Heidelberg Project for making this exhibit accessible to Jackson’s youth, neighborhoods, and surrounding communities. ESM admission rates are waived from now to October 26th!  Ella Sharp Museum.

20th Annual Art, Beer & Wine Festival presented by County National Bank. We’re raising our glass to the 20th Anniversary of our largest annual fundraiser of the year: The Art, Beer, and Wine Festival presented by County National Bank! Join your friends (and make new ones) at Jackson, Michigan’s largest tasting events. A favorite community tradition, we’ll showcase Michigan’s best wineries, breweries, cider mills, and local artists. Guests will also enjoy a tasty line-up of food vendors with live music throughout the grounds and in our historic Hillside Farmlane courtyard for a perfect summer day.  Event page here.

Take A Kid Fishing Day.  Our annual Take a Kid Fishing event will take place at Grass Lake Park Saturday June 7th from 9 am-12 pm. Free fishing poles and bait for the first 100 kids that arrive. Hotdog lunch provided to the participating kids. Additional lunches may be purchased if available.  373 N Lake Street Grass Lake.

Get Hooked on Fishing Kids” Fishing Event. Michigan Youth Bass Fishing Association along with some amazing sponsors are presenting The 4th Annual “Get Hooked On Fishing” Kid’s Community Event. “Good Night, and Good Luck” Free Broadway Screening. Doors open at 6:00 PM.  Pre-show at 6:30 PM. Performance begins at 7:00 PM.  Free admission.  Join us at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson for a special live-streamed Broadway performance of Good Night, and Good Luck, George Clooney’s critically acclaimed stage adaptation of his 2005 film. Experience the gripping true story of Edward R. Murrow’s bold stand against Senator Joseph McCarthy’s anti-communist crusade.
