Voter Education Event.  11 AM to 1 PM.  Jackson College Center Voter Education Event.  City voter education event at the YPOP Community Garden on Friday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m.    Hosted by Ward 1 City Councilmember Arlene Robinson, State Senator Sue Shink, the League of Women Voters Jackson area, and Young People of Purpose (YPOP) leader Diane Washington.  The event will cover everything voters need to know about participating in the upcoming election, including voting rights, early voting, absentee ballots and registering to vote. There will also be an emphasis on educating younger voters.  The event is free to attend. Refreshments will be available, with Senator Shink donating pizza and RJ’s Metropolitan Ice Cream Co. providing ice cream. The YPOP Community Garden is located at 1107 Maple St., Jackson.

Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  You’re invited to join us riverside for a healthy dose of good food, good music, and good community! We’ve got dozens of weekly rotating vendors offering Seasonal fruits & veggies, meats, cheeses, coffee, honey, pasta, artisan breads, baked goods, dairy, plants, flowers, bath and body, hand-crafted artisan wares, and more!  Entertainment and food truck.  We’ve also got prepared food and frozen make-n-take dinners.  We’ll be open rain or shine – hope to see you there!  Glick and Mechanic, Downtown Jackson.

Vineyard Jams at Cherry Creek Cellars.   Vineyard Jams. Every Friday and Saturday evening from 7-10 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best bands in the area. Marcus & Tiffany Shelton at Veritas.  6 PM to 9 PM.  Marcus and Tiffany Shelton are classically trained singers who have been married for over 20 years. In his longtime opera career, Marcus was honored to sing on stages around the world, and with some of the biggest names in the business; and Tiffany has largely focused her music degree and velvety pipes on jazz and musical theatre. They will be performing their signature mix of genres and styles, including: classic rock, opera, 90s alternative, mellow 70s gold, country, big band favorites, and more! Litty Kulturalization Magazine Launch.  4 PM to 7 PM.   Join us for an event focused on mental health and wellness in our community, featuring local business owners, healthcare providers, artists, musicians, and athletes. Our goal is to provide an outlet for these individuals to share their stories of resilience and success while promoting wellness and self-care. Cash O’Riley Live at Ironbark. 7 PM to 10 PM.    Hold onto your hats, folks, because the legendary one-man rock and roll band, Cash O’Riley, is back and ready to rock our world!  Mark your calendars and get ready to witness the legend in action once again!  Ironbark Brewing Company, 2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

Late Night Friday with Live Music by Mallery Lynn.  End the month of August with us and Mallery Lynn music! Hear country/rock from 6-9pm, closing at 10pm! Mallery was here for a short time at the Summer Art & Music Festival and in the past but, it’s been a few years! Sounds of Summer at Cherry Creek Cellars.  Join us on select Thursdays & Sundays throughout the summer for a variety of music. Swingin’ at the Shell.  6 PM.  Grab a chair & enjoy!  It’s the 20th Season! Swingin’ at the Shell is an annual series of FREE music concerts, held each Sunday during the summer at 6 p.m. in beautiful Albion, Michigan.  Come out and enjoy a wide variety of sounds including Jazz, Soul, Rock, Brass, Big Band, Celtic, Piano, Funk, Blues, and more.
