Monkey Business Escape Room.  Oh no! While cleaning the monkey habitat, the monkeys got up to hijinks and locked you in! Solve a series of puzzles and riddles to find your way out in an escape room experience at the Carnegie Library..  Intended for ages 6+ (adults are welcome too!). Registration is required.  To register for a session, call our Youth Services Department at 517-905-1331.  **Note: Due to an issue with online registration, patrons must call to register. If you have already registered online, your registration is still confirmed and no further action is needed.** Sessions:  March 22: 12 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM.  March 23: 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 3 PM.  March 24: 2 PM.  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.

DSLR 3 – More Custom Settings on Your DSLR.  10 AM to 12 PM.  This class explores auto exposure bracketing, exposure adjustments in the auto modes, understanding focusing modes, and back-button focus. Winter Market. The First Ever “Second Season” Winter Market!With over 20 of our original vendors.  Fridays 10:00AM – 3:00PM.  November Through April at Found Church, 141 E. Michigan Avenue, Jackson – Next to RJ’s Metropolitan Ice Cream.

St. Mary Star of the Sea Fish Fry.  St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 120 E Wesley St, Jackson.  Fridays through Lent from 4-7 pm.  (FINAL NIGHT!) $16.00 per dinner.  Dinner to include:  3 Pieces of your choice of Hand Battered Fried Atlantic Cod to Baked Atlantic Cod, Homemade Mac-n-Cheese, Seasoned Potato Wedges, and Homemade Coleslaw. Our 6th Grade class will be selling Soda/Pop for $2.00. Proceeds are to go towards their Annual Class Trip. You are welcome to dine in with us in Star Hall or pick-up your meal in our drive-thru. Our drive-thru entrance is off from Franklin Street thru the alley. Please note that Wesley Street is blocked off at the alleyway.

Queen of the Miraculous Medal Friday Fish Fry.  4:30 to 7 PM.  (FINAL NIGHT!) Fish (baked/fried), french fries, vegetable, macaroni and cheese, fish tacos, coleslaw, pizza, desserts, & drinks (all you care to eat-dine-in meals only).  $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students, $6 for ages 6 and under.  $48 for families (2 adults and up to 4 students).  Drive Thru Meals ($14):  Fish (baked/fried), french fries, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw & desserts.  Queens School Cafeteria.  Event page here.

2024 Maple Festival and Pancake Breakfast at Hanover Heritage Park.  7 AM to 11 AM.  Hanover Horton Area Historical Society invites you to join us as we wrap up the 2024 Maple Syrup Sugaring Season!  Entrance to the Maple Festival is by donation.  Stop for the All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast featuring our pure maple syrup harvested and processed by HHAHS volunteers here in our Sugar Shack.  Breakfast also includes sausage and drinks.  The cost is only  $9 per person with children 5 and under free.  Join us for a delicious meal and check out our indoor and outdoor activities! Indoors the children can create maple crafts.  All ages can test their maple knowledge with games, activities, and stories.  Finally, visit the bake sale to purchase not only baked goods but also our hand-made maple cotton candy, maple popcorn, maple nuts, and maple candy!  Our pure maple syrup will be available for purchase as well.  Visit the Sugar Shack to check out the syrup process.  121 Tefft Street, Hanover.

People for the Parks and Trails Spring Kickoff Event.  10 AM.  Spring is almost here and that means we’re getting ready to start the 2024 volunteer season! You’re invited to our Spring Kickoff Event on Saturday, March 23, at 10 a.m. at the MLK Recreation Center. This will be an opportunity to get reacquainted with the group after our winter break and get ready for spring projects. If you’re new to PPT, this is a chance to learn more about non-profit and meet fellow volunteers. The MLK Center is located at 1107 Adrian St. We will also use the event for our Annual Meeting, which will involve the confirmation of the board and selection of volunteer projects and events.

Greetings from Switzerland.  7:30 PM.   French violin virtuoso Eva Zavaro joins the Jackson Symphony Orchestra to perform Swiss composer Pierre Wissmer’s Second Violin Concerto – a piece she poignantly played in Ukraine at the beginning of the war. Works by Rimsky-Korsakov, Camille Pépin, and Ravel will also be featured and the program will end with Borodin’s richly textured Symphony No. 2.  Potter Center Music Hall, Jackson College.  PRE-CONCERT CONVERSATION:  Join us for a free, “behind the music” presentation before the concert at 6:30 pm.  AFTERPARTY at Country Club of Jackson.  Keep the celebration going after the baton is down and the instruments are put away. Following Saturday evening concerts, these events are a great opportunity to mingle with musicians, guest artists, composers, other symphony fans, and of course, the Maestro. Improv Art Show.  6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.  “What is an Improv Art Show?”  It is an improv comedy show where the guests also bring a piece of their art to create a spur-of-the-moment art show during the event. You’re not required to bring art to join, but it is strongly encouraged.   Monster Box Theatre came up with the idea of a fun collaboration. Art 634 will be helping with the art show portion, and Monster Box will be performing an interactive art themed improv show.”  You are required to get a ticket in advance, but they are donation based and you choose your ticket price. Then, on March 23rd, come to Art 634 at 6:30p with your piece of art. The show will be hung as guests arrive. At 7:30p, Monster Box Theatre will hit the stage. Your work may be incorporated into Monster Box’s show, and you may even win a prize for your entry! You can then take your work home with you, or feel free to sell the piece directly if there are any buyers present at the end of the show. Spring Flower Bulb Show.  Ready for spring? Come enjoy a spectacular showing of daffodils, hyacinths, tulips, amaryllis, and other spring flowers inside the Conservatory at Hidden Lake Gardens! Open Tuesdays through Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from March 9-24, closed on Mondays. HLG entry fee gives access to all garden attractions, including the bulb show in the conservatory. Ella Sharp Museum Sugaring & Shearing Festival.  12 PM to 4 PM.  Join us at the Ella Sharp Museum on Sunday, March 24th, 2024, for the much-anticipated return of our beloved Sugaring & Shearing Festival! Immerse yourself in the farm-life fun as farmers diligently prepare their livestock, land, and trees for the upcoming spring season.  Price: Free Admission.  Seven food trucks!  Vendors!  Sheep shearing, maple syrup demonstrations, print shop, crafts, petting zoo, popcorn, blacksmithing, face painting, and much more!   Event map here.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt.  2 PM.  Annual Easter Egg Hunt for more than 1,000 filled eggs within the church. All kids are welcome to explore our beautiful church in search of eggs and learn the amazing Easter story.
