Friday, March 27

St. Mary Lenten Fish Fry. 4 PM to 7 PM.  $17 per meal.  2 pieces of fried or baked cod, french fries, mac & cheese, cole slaw, and dessert.  In Star Hall, lower level of church, at corner of Wesley and Mechanic Streets, every Friday during Lent.   All proceeds go to St. Mary Child Development Center.  Dine in, drive thru, or carry out.  Final night!

Queens Friday Fish Dinner. 4:30 PM to 7 PM.  Join us Fridays during Lent (final night!) for the Knights of Columbus Fish Fry.  Fish, baked or fried, fish tacos, vegetable, french fries, mac & cheese, cole slaw, pizza, drinks and dessert.  Adults $16, $15 for seniors and students, $13 for active military, $7 for ages 7 and under.  Family rate available.  Drive thru meals $14.  Queens School Cafeteria.

Our Lady of Fatima Lenten Fish Fry.  Join us at Our Lady of Fatima for our Annual Lenten Fish Fry! Enjoy an all‑you‑can‑eat dinner featuring fried and baked fish, classic sides, and homemade desserts. Hilltop Chapel Concert Series.  Something special is coming to Concord. Hilltop Chapel is launching a brand-new Concert Series, and you are invited to be part of the very first night. Hilltop Chapel Family Life Center, 11000 Spring Arbor Rd, Concord.  Featuring Souls Harbor, a Southern Gospel trio from Southeast Michigan whose music has been heard in churches and venues across the country. Victor and the Good Vibes at Ironbark.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Take a sonic journey with Victor & The Good Vibes! Combining a folk aesthetic with an art rock sensibility, Victor McDermott and his band bring an eclectic mix of musical inspirations and genres. The evening will feature a solo set from Vic featuring many Michigan inspired songs and soulful folk tunes, then the band will assemble to bring an original music experience to the stage!  2610 Kibby Road, Jackson.

AWARE Community Jean Drive.  March 23-April 6.  Denim Day is a powerful symbol of support during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  Donate your old jeans today to help us create jean banners in Jackson, to be displayed by turning denim into a message of awareness, resilience, and change for survivors of sexual assault.  Drop off locations are AWARE, 706 West Michigan Avenue and SOAR Cafe, 401 N. Mechanic Street.

Saturday, March 28

People for the Parks & Trails Annual Meeting.  9:30 AM.  We will be having our annual meeting on March 28th at 9:30 am at the Martin Luther King Jr Center. We will be electing our board and discussing our upcoming coming volunteer season. We hope to see you there.  1107 Adrian Street, Jackson.

Branford Marsalis Plays John Williams. Jackson Symphony Orchestra.  7:30 pm at Potter Center.  Enjoy a night of music filled with rhythm, charm, and storytelling.  Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite No. 2 opens the evening with lively dances and heartfelt melodies. Paule Maurice’s Tableaux de Provence follows, painting vivid musical scenes of Southern France. The second half features Bernstein’s Fancy Free, a playful ballet about sailors on shore leave, before closing with John Williams’ Escapades from Catch Me If You Can, featuring the legendary Branford Marsalis on saxophone for a thrilling, movie-inspired finale. Jackson Reptile Expo. Come out to the Jackson Reptile Expo on March 28th from 10 AM–3 PM at the American 1 Event Center, for an amazing day filled with great people and amazing animals! Personal pets not allowed, service animals are welcome! Entry is $5 per person, kids 5 years and younger are free.

Sunday, March 29

Palm Sunday Service.  Join us for Palm Sunday worship on Sunday, March 29 at 10:30 AM as we begin Holy Week together. This special service will feature a moving Sermon in Song presented by our Music Ministry, centered on the theme “Walking With Jesus.” Through music, scripture, and worship, we will journey alongside Christ — from celebration to surrender — preparing our hearts for the week ahead.
