Downtown Jackson Cruise Night.  Cruise In & Concerts take place the 4th Friday of the month between May and September.  Cruise-In 5- 8 p.m.  Concert 8- 9:30 p.m.  The Cruise In takes place throughout the streets of Downtown Jackson.  Hundreds of classic cars line the streets, food trucks, contests, and vendors.  The concert, featuring Five Second Rule, on the TRUE Community City Stage at Horace Blackman Park.  Registration and activitiés at the intersection of Michigan and Jackson.

30th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting and Patient Appreciation Event.  2 PM to 4 PM.  Penn Chiropractic Centre Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Ribbon Cutting & Patient Appreciation Event with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.  The event will feature snacks from Grazing Charcuterie, drinks from Zero Bar & Lounge, music by Ian Stewart, and tours of the newly renovated practice. The celebration is a way to show appreciation to the patients who have been a part of their journey and to showcase their services and technologies that Penn Chiropractic Centre now offers to the community and surrounding neighborhoods. The event promises to be a fun and informative experience for all who attend. We hope to see you there!  This event is open house style.  1905 Horton Road, Jackson (behind Crimson Oak).

 Next to Normal.  7 PM.  Next to Normal musical will be performed at the Jackson Symphony Orchestra Weatherwax Hall in Jackson. The performances will fall on Memorial Day Weekend, 7pm – Friday 5/26, 7pm – Saturday 5/27, and 2pm – Sunday 5/28.  This show is produced in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month and will showcase in the lobby various agencies and mental health providers in our community.  Presented by Center Stage Jackson.  Event page here.

Cascades Falls Park. This is the 91st season for The Cascades, which is open Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, Wednesday through Sunday 8-11 p.m. The Cascades also includes a Splash Pad that is open from 11 a.m. -7 p.m. (Monday-Saturday) Noon-6 p.m. (Sunday). Live entertainment is also provide each Wednesday night throughout the summer and a complete schedule can be found at JacksonCountyParks.org.  Admission to the Splash Pad and The Cascades is free thanks to a sponsorship from Alro Steel in celebration of their 75th anniversary.  

Sir Richard and Friends.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Catch some live tunes by yours truly, along side with some friends on some Impromptu jamming! Come down and listen to your favorite Sir Richard tracks! Southside Summerfest Series:  Black Arts Festival.  The 3rd Annual Black Arts Fest Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 11 am – 6 pm.  Many talented artists, vendors, food, music, art, and more!Elnora Moorman Plaza, 152 E High St, Jackson.  southsidesummerfest@gmail.com.  #SouthsideFestivalSeries is proud to kick off its 5th Annual Summer Fest series at the historic Elnora Moorman Plaza at the corner of E. High Street and S. Milwaukee Street where live music, merchants, food, businesses, organizations and more all gather in celebration of the rich history and culture of the Southside community.

Jackson Coffee Company Board Game Meetup.  2 PM to 4 PM.  We meet upstairs at Jackson Coffee Company to play board games. Please feel free to jump in anytime.  201 S. Mechanic Street, Downtown Jackson.

Mike “Slim” Crupi at One North.  Come on down to Hear some Mike Slim Crupi Tunes Live at One North Kitchen and Bar located at Bondsteel Drive from 6:00 to 10:00 P.M.

Sunday, May 28

EAA Pancake Breakfast and Fly-In. Jackson County Airport.  Presented by Jackson’s Experimental Aircraft Association, EAA 304.  7:00 AM to Noon.  $10 per person, Kids Age 6-10, $5, Kids Age 5 and Under free with adult.

Monday, May 29

Memorial Day Mass at St. John Cemetery.  9 AM.  All are welcome to join us for Memorial Day Mass at St. John Cemetery.  Mass will be held outside at the cemetery’s altar, which is located at 403 E. South Street in Jackson.   Please bring your own lawn chair for seating.

Jackson Memorial Day Parade.  10 AM.  The Jackson County Veterans Council is hosting the annual Memorial Day parade. Starting downtown at the intersection of Jackson Street and Michigan Avenue, proceeding south on Jackson to Greenwood, ending at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.  A ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the parade.  

 Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade.  10 AM. The parade starts on Main Street, downtown to Chicago Street, ending at the American Legion Post at 211 Chicago Street.

Spring Arbor Memorial Day Parade.  1 PM.   Kid’s activities will take place starting at 11 AM on the front lawn of The Arbor Church, 120 E. Main St., A service with speakers and veteran acknowledgment starts at 12 PM  in front of the township hall at 107 E. Main St.  The parade follows at 1 PM on Main Street.

Clarklake Memorial Day Parade.  8:30 AM.  The parade route is Hyde Road.

Concord Memorial Day Parade.  10 AM.  Starting at the Post Office on Homer Street, proceeding south on Main Street and ending at Maple Grove Cemetery, where a ceremony will be held.

Grass Lake Memorial Day Parade.  10 AM.  Hosted by the American Legion.  A ceremony follows the procession downtown at Veterans Memorial, 132 West Michigan Avenue.  

Young People of Purpose present a Memorial Day Celebration.  12 PM to 1:30 PM. YPOP Veteran’s Memorial Garden, 151 Rockwell Street, Jackson.  Great food and drinks immediately following at YPOP Educational Garden, 1107 Maple Ave, Jackson.
