Gingerbread House Contest. The Meijer Branch is hosting a Gingerbread House competition! There will be separate divisions for children, teens, and adults with prizes for the winners. Houses will be judged on craftsmanship and creativity. Drop off your entry from Saturday, December 15th through Thursday, December 20th. Entries will be judged and the winner announced on Friday, December 21st. Please limit your Gingerbread House to a maximum footprint of 12″ x 18″. One entry per person, please. Reindeer Rendezvous. Join the Jackson District Library, and Whistle Stop Park Grass Lake Depot for reindeer in the park. Grass Lake Depot, 210 E. Michigan Ave, Grass Lake, 6 PM to 7:30 PM.
Nite Lites at Michigan International Speedway. The holiday display runs every day through Dec. 31, from 5:30 – 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:30 – 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The cost is $25 per car. The display will feature two lanes of traffic as guests drive through six lighted tunnels, 15 mega trees and more than 10-miles of Christmas lights lining the five-mile route. Winter Wonderland and visits with Santa run one more weekend, December 21 – 23. The Winter Wonderland display will be open from 6 – 9 p.m. Children can whisper their Christmas wishes to Santa and enjoy a free train ride from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Crafts, concessions and even reindeer will be featured during the event. The reindeer will visit 6 – 9 p.m. on Dec. 21. Entrance on U.S. 12.
