“It’s A Wonderful Life”.  7 PM.  Free! George Bailey has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all – and it’s Christmas! As the angels discuss George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence – who then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn’t been for all his good deeds over the years. Michigan Department of Corrections On-Site Visit.  11 AM to 1 PM.  Dining Commons, Jackson College Potter Center.  Meet with Noah Nagy, the warden from the Parnall Correctional Facility to discuss career or internship opportunities! If you’re unable to meet on campus, email Noah at NagyN@michigan.gov.  Open Positions:  Cook, Corrections Officer, Food Services Supervisor, Graduate Nurse, Internship & Clinical Rotations, Licensed Practical Nurse, Medical Record Examiner, Registered Nurse, Registered Nurse Supervisor, and Registered Nurse Manager. The Michigan Community College Association (MCCA) has established a grant program to support tuition reimbursement for Corrections Officers enrolled at a Michigan Community College. The MDOC requires that Corrections Officers earn 15 college credits within 24 months of employment. This program is intended for Officers that have not yet met that requirement. Spring Show Auditions for “Sylvia”.   5 – 7 p.m.  Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Jackson College Central Campus. Reserve your audition spot here!  Open casting call for ALL ages, genders, and ethnicities!  About the play:  Sylvia is Broadway’s loving comedy by A R Gurney about a marriage, a dog, and many laughs. Rehearsals will be two days a week from Jan – April, 2024. Final performances will be in April at Jackson College in the newly renovated Baughman Theater! Please prepare a reading and song:  one-minute monologue and song (optional): provide your own recording or sing Happy Birthday.  Theatre Instructor Sara Anne Tomczak hosts an open casting call for all ages, genders and ethnicities; students, staff, faculty & community members are welcome. The audition will be on Monday, Dec. 4 from 5-7, and callbacks on Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 5-7 p.m. Students can gain credit for working on this production both on stage and behind the scenes. We are searching for actors as well as people interested in working behind the scenes (stage management, set design, costume design, lighting design, sound design, and more).
