
Politics for the Environment. 7 pm – 8:45 pm, doors open at 6:30 for mingling & refreshments. Presented by the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter. Sierra Club speakers will include: Political Chair Richard Barron, Political Director Mike Berkowitz, and Political Organizer Sarah Tresedder. Learn how your lawmakers have been voting when it comes to protecting the environment, who Sierra Club has endorsed in your area, and what impact the 2018 elections will have on clean air, water, energy and natural resources. And join us afterwards for a “green” drinks at our local downtown “Grand River Brewery” only one block east. Carnegie Library Auditorium, 244 W. Michigan Ave. Jackson.
The Nixon Water Park is open with sessions today: 11 AM to 2 PM, 2:15 PM to 5:15 PM and 5:30 PM to 7 PM. $4 per person. Evening session is $2. Ten swim passes are available for $32 (2 free sessions). There is a picnic area and light concessions are available for purchase. Patrons are allowed to bring in small coolers (no glass containers). Nixon Water Park, 400 East North Street.
Yoga at the Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library. Join us at the Meijer Branch! Stop by the Meijer Branch every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., and Friday at 8:30 a.m. and let Jeanette Lamphere teach you yoga. Suggested donation of $3. Intended for adults.
Show Some Love for Two Great Causes. Enjoy music, food, beer and wine, all the while supporting these worthy organizations. We’re raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help them fight cancer, and Cascades Humane Society to help homeless animals. Join us from 6 pm to 9 pm on July 23rd and July 25th. There will be a $5 (cash please) cover charge at the door. 100% of this will go to our charities. Beer, wine and great food will be available for purchase. We will donate 10% of all proceeds from wine, beer and food sales to St.Jude on July 23rd and Cascades Humane Society on July 25th. Music provided by Anthony Paparelli and Keith Schwier, who are generously donating their time for these wonderful charities.
