Jackson YMCA Spring Break Camp.  Get into the spring spirit with Jackson YMCA Spring Break Camp!  Campers will celebrate Spirit Week March 28 through April 1, with a fun theme each day. Themes include Disney Day, Jersey Day with your favorite team or player, and Animal Day. Campers also get to take trips to Allskate, Potter Park Zoo, to the Ella Sharp Planetarium and more.  Camp is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Around the World in Nine Days at Jackson District Library.  Travel the world and experience the culture of people and places around the globe during Spring Break, March 26-April 3! Start at your local branch to pick up a passport and begin your quest to visit all 13 branches while navigating the customs and traditions of the 13 countries represented.  Visit 3 countries to earn a prize, visit 7 countries to earn a second prize and visit 10 countries to be entered into a grand prize drawing for a stuffed animal and book. You can also stop by any branch to fill out a trivia sheet for a grand prize entry, no world travel required.  Looking for even more adventure? Spring Break Planetarium Show: From Earth to the Universe.  March 28 – April 1.  11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Hurst Planetarium at Ella Sharp Museum.  The night sky, both beautiful and mysterious, has inspired awe and been the subject of campfire stories, and ancient myths for as long as there have been people. A desire to comprehend the Universe may well be humanity’s oldest shared intellectual experience. Yet only recently have we truly begun to grasp our place in the vast cosmos. To learn about this journey of celestial discovery, from the theories of the ancient Greek astronomers to today’s grandest telescopes, we invite you to experience From Earth to the Universe.  This program is presented in collaboration with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra.

Spring Break Movies at the Concord Branch.  10 AM.  The Concord Branch will be showing movies in the auditorium March 28-April 1. Each movie will be kid-friendly and show an example of French culture or be produced by a French director. A different movie will be shown each day at 10 AM and 2 PM, as open hours allow.  This event is part of JDL’s Around the World in 9 Days Spring Break program.

Spring Break at Ella Sharp Museum.  We’re open Monday – Sunday this week to celebrate Spring Break! Step back through time and see art in nature in our permanent galleries. Tour the special exhibition, Bringing the Village to Life: The YPOP Story, soar From Earth to the Universe in Jackson’s planetarium and be among the first to tour the historic Merriman-Sharp farmhouse when it reopens two years after pandemic shutdowns.  Purchase tickets online or on-site. Visitors are encouraged to buy tickets in advance for timed activities, including planetarium shows and home tours. Winter Learning Series at the Jackson YMCA.  Join us Monday, March 28 in the Beaman lounge at 11:30 am for our final Winter Learning Series speaker. Glen Ashlock, Assistive Technology Manager, Region 2 Area Agency on Aging.  Glen works closely with individuals with a wide range of disabilities to help connect them with technology that can improve their safety and independence.  We are pleased to bring this FREE series to our members and the Jackson community. All are welcome.

Jackson College Film Class Series:  Ghostbusters Afterlife.  Doors open at 6:30 pm. Auditorium doors open at 7 pm. Film begins at 7:15 pm. Admission is $5. Michigan Theatre Members receive a medium combo (medium popcorn/medium soft drink or water).  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.
