Blessing of the Veterans.  South Jackson Community Church will be holding our 2nd Annual Blessing of the Veterans, lead by Pastor Steve Brown, on November 12 starting at 2:00pm and going until 4:00pm.  All who wish to attend are welcome to come anytime in this time frame.  The event will be held right at the church.  All veterans will be anointed and blessed during this time.  All Vietnam veterans will receive their Vietnam War 50th Anniversary pins. There will be a light lunch provided. We hope you will join us in honoring our veterans.  1024 West Kimmel Road, Jackson.

Before the Flood.  Before The Flood is a recent documentary regarding climate change. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio meets with scientists, activists and world leaders to discuss the dangers of climate change and possible solutions. DiCaprio presents a riveting account of the dramatic changes occurring around the world due to climate change, as well as the actions individuals and society can take to prevent catastrophic disruption of life on this planet. Di Caprio has talked about how the making of the film led him to change his life to lessen his own impact on the planet, and lend a hand to help those impacted by severe climate/weather events. Doors open at 6:30PM for mingling and refreshments. Free and Open to the Public. Film at 7 PM.  Jackson District Library, Carnegie Branch.

Bedtime Stories and Snacks at Carnegie.   Stories, Pajamas, and Snacks in the Library?! Oh my! Wear your jammies (and bring your favorite stuffed toy) for storytime & snacks. Each November 12th features food stories with juice and popcorn.  6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.
