
Grandparents Week. Join us to celebrate Grandparents Week by learning how to create a family oral history. This program will take place at the Carnegie Library on September 12-16, 1-1:45 PM each day. Daniel Clark from the Michigan Oral History Association will join us for a presentation during the September 12 session. Yoga at Eastern. 3 PM. Come relax, unwind, and take care of your body with the slow and gentle flow of yoga at the Jackson District Library Eastern Branch! Bring your own mat. If you do not have one, a limited amount may be available. This program takes place on the second Monday of the month at 3 PM.
Local Author Talk. 6 PM. Join author Heather Caster at the Jackson District Library Meijer Branch as she discusses her book Blindsided to Blessed: My Family’s Journey from Teen Suicide to Finding a Purpose. In her book, Heather, a local Northwest Middle School teacher and parent, shares her personal experience with teen suicide with the loss of her own daughter. She shares her experience working through the process of not only her grief, but the inevitable questions the loved ones of suicide victims always ask themselves in the wake of tragedy. Heather also shares the extraordinary support she received from her community and finding purpose in helping others.
