Jackson College Film Series: “Coraline”. 7:15 PM.  While exploring her new home, a girl named Coraline (Dakota Fanning) discovers a secret door, behind which lies an alternate world that closely mirrors her own but, in many ways, is better. She rejoices in her discovery, until Other Mother (Teri Hatcher) and the rest of her parallel family try to keep her there.  Doors open at 7:00 P.M. Film at 7:15 P.M. Admission 5 Dollars. Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Diwali Diya Lamps.  5:30 PM.  Learn about the Indian festival of lights known as Diwali at the Grass Lake Branch. Explore different cultural practices around the holiday and decorate your own Diya lamp. All ages are welcome. Call 517-522-8211 to register.  Grass Lake Branch, Jackson District Library.

Paint Parties to Go – Wood Holiday Cheer Paint Night. 5:30 – 7:30 p.m..  STEAM Factory, Painting and Drawing Studio 100. Jackson College Central Campus. Includes paint, brushes, and wood! All experience levels welcome for ages 13+! This course is taught by Karen Olmos and sponsored by CCE. *Karen will have take-home kits available after the workshop for an extra charge. Neighborhood Meeting.  6 PM. Residents in Jackson’s Second Ward have an upcoming opportunity to meet with their City Council representative and learn the latest news from their neighborhood. City Councilmember Freddie Dancy is holding a neighborhood meeting for the Second Ward on Monday, Nov. 13, 6:00 p.m. at Lily Missionary Baptist Church.
 Councilmember Dancy organized the meeting for residents to learn about the City’s new 100 Homes Program, which is building new affordable homes on vacant lots, along with details about the City’s Home Rehabilitation Program. Ward 2 covers Jackson’s east side neighborhoods and the eastern half of Downtown Jackson. All residents are welcome to attend. Lily Missionary Baptist Church is located at 1117 WG Wade Drive.
