Oppenheimer –  Movies for Grownups. 7 PM.  Oppenheimer comes to the big screen Monday, September 14 at 7:00 PM as part of Movies for Grownups at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson.  Christopher Nolan’s historical drama follows physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb during World War II, along with the political and personal consequences that followed. Michigan Theatre members receive a FREE medium concessions combo during Monday Movies for Grownups screenings.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Blues at the Bohm Featuring Rocky Athas.  7 PM.  Experience a powerhouse night of Texas blues as legendary guitarist Rocky Athas takes the stage for Blues at the Bohm on September 14, 2026. Known for his world-class tone and storied career—including a celebrated tenure with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers—Athas brings a masterful blend of scorching solos and deep-groove storytelling to the historic Bohm Theatre. Jackson District Library Staff Art Show. See beyond our desks to appreciate the art of our Jackson District Libraries staff members. We have collected pieces from all of our staff around the district to put on display here at the Eastern Branch for the entire month of September. Come in, have a look, and leave inspired!  Collection open to view during all open hours.

Pathways of Patriotism: Exploring Jackson County’s Revolutionary Roots Exhibit.  The Pathways of Patriotism exhibit is displayed at the historic Jackson Amtrak Station, located at 501 E. Michigan Avenue, where thousands of visitors and travelers can engage with Jackson County’s role in America’s evolving democratic story. The installation will remain on view through November 15, offering residents, students, and visitors an opportunity to explore how our community has shaped—and continues to shape—the nation’s ongoing pursuit of liberty, justice, and a more perfect union.
