“The Full Monty”.  7 PM.  Jackson College Potter Center – The Baughman Theatre.  Get ready to laugh, cheer, and be moved as six out-of-work steelworkers take an outrageous chance to turn their lives around in this Tony Award-winning musical. Zombie Day at Sandhill Crane Vineyards. 6 PM.  Halloween is our favorite time of year at Sandhill! Celebrate Zombie Day with us October 10th Drink up our new releases of spooky wines and dress up as a zombie to earn 20% off bottles & glasses of Night of the Living Red, Revenge of the Living Red & After Sundown. Haunted Tours:  The Sparks Edition.  This October, the Jackson Downtown Development Authority invites you to explore one of Jackson’s most intriguing landmarks—the Commercial Exchange Building, now known as The Sparks. Together with the Central Michigan Paranormal Investigators (CMPI), we’re hosting a haunted fundraiser that blends history, architecture, and the unexplained into one unforgettable night.  A decade ago, CMPI investigated this very building and encountered chilling activity: a heavy door that opened on its own, echoes of machinery and voices from long-gone workers, and contact—through their devices—with the spirit of a 17-year-old once trapped inside. This October, they return with cutting-edge equipment like K2 meters, REM pods, and laser grids for a live paranormal investigation that puts you in the middle of the action. Calvary United Methodist Church Rummage Sale.  Lansing Avenue entrance (corner of Lansing Avenue and Clinton Road).  Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 12 PM.  Saturday is Bag Day, fill a bag for $3.  From 11 AM to 12 PM, free!  Baked Goods Available.

“When The River Flows Over the Same Stone Twice”  Exhibit. On Display Until End of December.  The Ella Sharp Museum welcomes a new exhibit curated by Jackson’s own Doug Jones – artist, educator, and leader in the movement for Equitable Art. With over 60 large-scale public art projects across Southeast Michigan, Jones blends community development, mental health, and collaborative creativity to drive social change through the arts.  During open hours at Ella Sharp Museum.

Nite Lites Halloween Drive-Thru. The New Nite Lites Halloween light show is a drive-thru attraction roughly 2 miles for all ages to experience with no scary actors from the comfort of your own car. Train rides will be available. Halloween Costume Closet Drop Off. 9 AM to 5 PM.  Do you have any extra Halloween costumes lying around? Well, come on down to the library and donate them! We are accepting clean and gently used costumes and costume accessories from October 4-11. We will then have them out for FREE from October 16-18.  Eastern Branch, Jackson District Library.

The Inclusion Event:  Music on Tap with Experimental Folk and Jaelynn Lea.  8 PM.  Free.  Donations appreciated, tickets required.  Since winning NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Contest in 2016, Gaelynn Lea has captivated audiences worldwide with her mesmerizing blend of haunting original songs, ethereal soundscapes, and traditional fiddle tunes. Her unique style combines lush, looping violin melodies with her plaintive, otherworldly vocals, creating an emotional depth that lingers long after the music ends. Lea is a powerful Disability Rights activist who promotes equitable inclusion and advocates for accessibility in the music industry. Astronomical Observatory Viewing Night.  9 PM to 11 PM.  Students, employees, and community members are invited to enjoy an evening of stargazing through our campus telescope! Please visit the Astronomical Observatory web page before attending to confirm the event is still taking place, as it may be canceled due to weather conditions.  Jackson College Central Campus.

Taylor Swift Skate Party. 1 PM to 4 PM.  Party to your favorite Taylor Swift music, get a free swiftie friendship bracelet with each paid admission. Dress in your best sparkly fringe or Era outfit!  Allskate Fun Center, 1313 West North Street, Jackson.

Blues Jam with 5 Second Rule. Doors open at 6:30 PM, music starts at 7:00 PM.  Admission: Free event – suggested donations $5.  Blues Jam hosted by Mike Crupi, Heather Kulaga, and Gary Martin of 5 Second Rule. Join us for an unforgettable Blues Jam with 5 Second Rule at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson! 84th Annual Jackson County Branch NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet.  5 PM.  We invite you to join us for a powerful evening of unity, perseverance, and purpose at our 84th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 5:00pm at Gene Davis & Sons. “Gameday” Football Sunday Men’s Health Fair.  1 PM to 3:30 PM.  Presented by Quest South East Jackson Lions Club and American Legion Sauk Trail Post 246.  Free health screenings will be offered to the community by Jackson College Medical Assistants and UMCICH Medical Students.  Free activities, refreshments, community resources and giveaways.  439 East Prospect Street, Jackson.

7th Annual No Trick Just Treats.  5 PM to 8 PM.  Come join Jackson Michigan Giving Back to the Community for out 7th Annual No Tricks Just Treats Halloween Event. We will be having a live DJ (Loud and Proud Entertainment), hot chocolate, games, other activities and much much more. Safety measures will be taken to ensure the safety of all in the community. We will be having our annual costume contest with first, second and third cash prize winners.
