Dark Art Show Opening Reception. Join Art 634 for an evening that delves into the eerie and the macabre. On Friday, October 11th, from 6 PM to 9 PM, we invite you to Art 634’s annual Dark Art Show, where the realms of imagination and horror are brought to life on canvas and sculpture. Enjoy live ambient music by John Collins McCormick. Plus a selection of Horror d’oeuvres and refreshments designed to soothe as you immerse yourself in art that promises to deliver spine-tingling chills. This group exhibition, held in the Galleries at Art 634 in Jackson, Michigan, features a diverse range of multimedia artworks, all-embracing the dark art theme. Jay Fry Live at Ironbark. 7 PM to 10 PM. Jay Fry is a guitar-wielding singer/songwriter based out of Southeastern Michigan, though his musical influences come from all over the place. His sets feature covers and originals in the styles of Rock, Folk, Jazz, Classic Rock, Pop, R&B, Americana and more. He’s played all over the country, both solo and with his band, Chirp. American Girl Tea Party: Great Pumpkin. 10 AM to 12 PM. Join us for some spooky glowing fun with your favorite doll or stuffed animal. Wear your Halloween costume, your doll too. Ogma 3 Year Anniversary Event. All the festivities kick off at 11 a.m. and continue until 11 p.m. The Ogma taproom and kitchen (free access) will be operating as usual, offering our traditional beer and food options. The Ogma Beer Garden & Ogma Alley ($5 access), housed under a tent, will be packed full of excitement, including: Two concerts appropriately named “Daytime Music” & “Nighttime Metal”. The Laugh Company: 20 Years of Improv. 8 PM. The Laugh Company is celebrating its 20th year!!! We are excited to announce we will be performing at the newly renovated Michigan Theatre of Jackson, on Saturday, October 12th.The Laugh Company has performed all over Jackson, and is celebrating its 20th year! This comedy show is completely impromptu and is built by audience suggestions. Cast: Alex Soper, Vannessa Williams, Adam Woolsey and Tommy Lopez. Tickets are encouraged to be purchased in advance at www.michigantheatre.org or at the door. All proceeds benefit the Michigan Theatre.

Jackson Area CROP Hunger Walk. The 50th Anniversary Jackson Walk: 1974-2024. Walk starts at: First Congregational Church, 120 N. Jackson St. Gathering and Registration: 12:30 pm, Opening Ceremony 1:05 pm, Walk begins: 1:20 pm. Walks of ½, 2 or 2.6 miles. After the walk, soup & ice cream at First Congregational Church. The CROP Hunger Walk is a nationwide movement sponsored by Church World Service to raise funds to end hunger and poverty in the U.S. and around the world. 25% of walk proceeds will support these local hunger ministries: First Baptist Café Connection, First Congregational Tuesday Lunch, First United Methodist Community Food Program, Immanuel Lutheran Food Pantry and St. John’s United Church of Christ Community Food Pantry. Ambrosia, John Ford Coley and Peter Beckett (the voice of Player) come together for a magical night performing all their 1970s and 1980s Billboard Hits.
