Free Film and Presentation:  Sacred Cow.  Michigan Theatre.  Diana Rodgers-Michigan Theatre -Jackson-FREE   The American Highland Cattle Association is holding its 70th Annual Gathering of Members in Michigan.  It is hosted by the Midwest Highland Cattle Association. On Saturday, October 9th, the public is being invited to attend Diana Rodgers’ keynote address to our associations, free of charge. She is a dietitian and a strong advocate for sustainable farming. Diana is the author of the book Sacred Cow, and director of the movie of the same name. She will speak about the superior nutritional value of meat, and why sustainable agriculture is the key to environmental success. Diana works closely with, and utilizes the research of, Michigan State University’s Lake City Research station. Their work is quoted in Sacred Cow, the book and movie! Diana’s message is important to livestock producers as well as consumers, and it is for that reason you are invited to attend and encouraged to bring friends and relatives. She presents fact-based arguments when addressing the myths and misinformation being used more and more aggressively to eliminate meat from our diets and the landscape. We have featured many of her “InfoGraphics” in our emails over the last year or so. We encourage young people in FFA or 4H to attend, as they are the future for agriculture generally, and livestock agriculture in particular. This is a wonderful opportunity for our leaders of the future. We also encourage our many customers who are considering raising animals themselves, to learn what issues need to be addressed.  Diana will first address key issues and research that are new since the movie was released last summer. Sacred Cow, the movie will then be shown, which will be followed by a Q&A session. The program starts at 1:30 PM, at The Michigan Theatre, located at 124 N. Mechanic Street in downtown Jackson. You may park anywhere on the weekends in downtown Jackson.
