History of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. 6 PM. Join us for a FREE and engaging presentation on the history of the JSO! This event will take place at the Carnegie Branch (244 W Michigan Ave) of the Jackson District Library, April 10 at 6pm. JDL’s historian, Nathaniel Arndts, will guide you through the inspiring story of how the JSO grew from the talented and resilient Jackson community into the thriving symphony, community music school, and performing arts organization it is today. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the JSO’s legacy, musicianship, and the events that have kept it at the heart of the Jackson community for three-quarters of a century. The presentation will begin with a 30-minute historical overview, followed by a 10-minute inside look at the 75th Diamond Celebration Classical Concert, presented by Executive and Music Director Matthew Aubin.
