Jackson College Screening Day.  Don’t miss out on free & low-cost health screenings while helping Jackson College students gain some experience!  Jackson College will provide free health screenings on April 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Health screenings will take place in the Rawal Center, Justin Whiting Hall. Students, under the direction of licensed/certified faculty and healthcare professionals, will offer a variety of screenings:  Blood Pressure, EKG, Glucose, Diabetic Foot Exam, Spirometry (Pulmonary Function), Pulse Oximetry, Venous Insufficiency and Vascular Arterial Screening.  By appointment, please call 517.990.1374, or online at   www.jccmi.edu/health-screening.  Dental Screening:  Oral Cancer Screening and X-rays if indicated.  By appointment, please call 517.990.1311 or visit  www.jccmi.edu/dental-screening .  Additional screenings:  A1C, $10, Lipid (Cholesterol) $20.  In addition to the screenings, a blood drive by Versiti Blood Center of Michigan will be held. Country Club of Jackson Renovation Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting.  4 PM to 6 PM.   The event is open to the community, local businesses, and its members, and will feature tours of the newly renovated facilities along with hors d’oeuvres and beverages. The clubhouse has undergone an extensive renovation that includes a new dining area and bar, providing a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for members and guests to enjoy. Additionally, a new golf performance center has been added, providing state-of-the-art facilities for golfers of all skill levels to improve their game. Outside, golf turn bar and food have been added for members and guests to enjoy while out on the course.   Please join us for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on April 20, 2023, from 4 pm-6 pm, to experience the newly renovated Country Club of Jackson, 3135 Horton Road, Jackson.

Michigan Theatre Member Movie Night: “Interstellar”.  In Earth’s future, a global crop blight and second Dust Bowl are slowly rendering the planet uninhabitable. Professor Brand (Michael Caine), a brilliant NASA physicist, is working on plans to save mankind by transporting Earth’s population to a new home via a wormhole. But first, Brand must send former NASA pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) and a team of researchers through the wormhole and across the galaxy to find out which of three planets could be mankind’s new home.  All Members get in free every Thursday. Purchase a membership anytime for 30 dollars for an individual (per year). Non members cost is $5.  Doors open at 6:30 P.M.  Film Begins at 7:00 P.M.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Jackson Public Schools Kindergarten and Young Fives Roundup.  Join us at one of our JPS Elementary Schools!  Today:  Hunt Elementary, 9 AM.  Free Class of 2036 T-Shirt upon enrollment!  Community partners will be available to serve you, including Jackson YMCA, JCISD, CAA, Center for Family Health, Jackson District Library, Jackson County Health Department and more!  Please arrive early as program will begin promptly!

Jackson County Student Art Show Exhibition.  Now through May 1 at Jackson Crossing Mall.  Presented by JXN Art Teachers.

420 Day at Ogma.  11 AM to 10 PM.  Celebrate 420 with our special munchies menu, a performance by The Orbiters (jam/rock), and the annual release of The Big Rip, New England Double IPA!  Special 420 Day menu!  At 7 PM, our 420 Day musical guests, The Orbiters, are about to enhance the vibes on an already special day at Ogma! Open Mic Night at Art 634.  Come Join host Mike Slim Crupi at Art 634 for Open Mic Night.  Share your talent at Art 634! Stand Up, Music, Poetry, Storytelling, Theater, or whatever creativity you want to show.  Monthly in the Main Gallery at Art 634, hosted by a different local artist each month – for artists, by artists!  Coffee, tea, cocoa, water. Imagine the Moon.  Showing Through April.  Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays at 12:00 pm,  Hurst Planetarium.  When was the last time you looked at the Moon? Not Just noticed it, but really looked at it? To most of us the Moon seems like an afterthought, a thing we might notice in passing and then not give a second glance. But the Moon’s place in our lives is so much more than just its physical presence in the sky. It is a constant companion in our collective imagination. This is a show ESPECIALLY for children!
