Join us for a free recording session/performance with Jackson-born composer, Marcus Norris, using a combination of electronic music and live performers from the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. All are welcome to attend this event. Marcus Norris started out performing beats and electronic music and now he also composes for major orchestras. He is premiering a piece of music with the JSO during our upcoming concerts on April 29, 30, and May 1.

Explore the Night: Frogs and Toads at the Dahlem Center. 7:00 PM. Hop to it – April is all about frogs and toads! Join Dahlem Nature Center and the Ella Sharp Museum for an in-depth exploration of these wetland creatures. First, meet live examples of Michigan’s frogs and toads, and experience rarely-seen pieces of wildlife art from the Andrews Wildlife Collection. Then grab your galoshes and join a frog-hunting hike! Participants will learn to identify frog calls and how to safely catch and release live frogs. “Explore the Night!” is a collaboration between the Ella Sharp Museum and Dahlem Nature Center. Join us each month for a family-friendly evening program exploring the exhibits, collections, and grounds of these Jackson institutions. This program is recommended for ages 10+. Our Neighbor’s Keeper Community Sidewalk Sale. Jackson Art Teachers and Students Art Show. Help us celebrate the important work of art teachers as well as the next generations of artists with the Jackson Art Teachers and Students Art Show. This exhibit features art work from art teachers from all across Jackson County, as well as the work of their students. Summer Day Camp Registration. Jackson YMCA Summer Day Camp, which begins June 13, will be here before you know it, and kids, teens and young adults can join us for a great summer of fun activities.
