The Green Market at Henry Ford Allegiance Health.  We focus on natural, sustainable Michigan produce and products.  All foods and products sold at The Green Market at Henry Ford Allegiance Health are grown and/or produced in Michigan using little or no pesticides, herbicides, inorganic fertilizers, or antibiotics.  This means healthier foods for the greater Jackson community and less pollution for our rivers and lakes.  In the parking lot, corner of Waterloo and East Michigan Avenue. Across from the hospital.   9 AM to 2 PM.

Jackson Symphony Guild presents Still Alice at the Michigan Theatre.  Doors open at 6 PM, film begins at 6:30 PM.  Donations accepted to support Music & Memory program.  Q&A with Alzheimer’s expert at intermission.  The Music & Memory program raises funds for music downloads and devices which are used by those suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia and other chronic illnesses in the community.

Red Cross Blood Drive.  Summit Fire Department, 2121 Ferguson Road, Jackson.  10 AM to 4 PM.  As summer winds down, the American Red Cross urges individuals to give blood now and help end an emergency summer blood shortage that began last month.

Free Vision and Hearing Clinic.Michigan law requires a child to have a hearing and vision screening before they enter kindergarten.  The Jackson County Health Department provides FREE screenings that fulfill the requirement for school entry. Walk-in clinics are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm through the end of August. The clinics are held at the Jackson County Health Department at 1715 Lansing Ave, Jackson, Second Floor, Room 246.

Ella’s Patio Party.Please join us for live music by River Jazz, appetizers from local favorites, and a cash bar. It’s the perfect way to unwind on a summer evening with friends and family.   5:30-7:30 p.m.  Patio Parties are free for members and $5 for non-members. All ages are welcome.  Sponsored by Rehmann.
