Jackson College and MLK Center Educational Partnership Official Opening. 3 PM. The City of Jackson’s Martin Luther King Center and Jackson College are working together to bring college classes closer to home for city residents and workers. The community is invited to celebrate the unveiling and opening of Jackson College’s partnership location with Jackson’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center. A short program is set for 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the MLK Center, 1107 Adrian St., Jackson, MI 49203. Jackson College began offering classes at the MLK Center in 2019, an intentional effort to connect with the City of Jackson and bring college classes to students living in the inner-city area. While the pandemic put in-person classes on hold, the College began offering classes again this past fall. Students may enroll in courses leading to an entrepreneurship certificate. With renovations complete on the MLK Center and the recent installation of a sign signifying the partnership, Jackson and the College are excited to continue these efforts. All are welcome at this partnership celebration. There will be a short program and light refreshments. Classes are currently enrolling for both the spring and summer semesters. To learn more about MLK Center location offerings or any JC classes, contact Student Services at 517.796.8425 or visit jccmi.edu.
