Jackson YMCA Winter Break Camp.  Kids ages 5-14 can have a great time at our Winter Break Camp, featuring indoor and outdoor activities.  Sign up for one or two days or all two weeks.  Daily rate: $39 members/$49 community.  Week 1: $119/$149.  Week 2: $149/$199.  Sign up in person or at www.jacksonymca.org

Wings of Winter.  1 PM to 2 PM.  Fly on over to Ella Sharp Museum this December for the return of the Michigan Avian Experience and their amazing birds. This drop-in program is the perfect opportunity to meet some of Michigan’s birds up close and personal.  Price: $7/person.  Price includes meet and greet with Francie from the Michigan Avian Experience, a craft, and gallery admission.  Ella Sharp Museum.

ARTitude.  ARTitude is an annual pop-up holiday marketplace now open at the Masonic Temple, 145 W. Cortland in Downtown Jackson. We offer a booth-style marketplace for artists to display and sell their work throughout the Holiday season. The marketplace will be open for business through Friday, December 24th. Our regular hours will be Tuesdays through Saturdays 11a.-7p. and Sundays 11a.-4p.

The Art and Voice of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  This event honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s powerful voice while highlight the role that art can play in social transformation. Patrons are invited to create a piece of art in any medium inspired by one of the prompts from Dr. King’s sermons and speeches, and send a photo of their piece to community@myjdl.com.Submissions dates are December 15 to January 1. The piece selected as the winner will be on display and all entries will be featured on JDL’s Facebook page.

Winter Break Planetarium Shows.  Ella Sharp Museum and Hurst Planetarium are celebrating the holidays with daily showings of “Let It Snow”, an animated musical of Christmas and holiday songs for the whole family. Featured music from Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, the Trans Siberian Orchestra, and more! Open to all ages.  Includes a night sky tour of the Jackson winter night sky.  December 18-22.  11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. showtimes. Winter Break Extended Hours.  Ella Sharp Museum.  Join us this winter break, December 18-22, for exciting programs across our campus. Holiday Skate at Allskate.  1 PM to 4 PM.  Admission is $8, skate rental $4, Skate Mates $5 + deposit.  Fun Pass: $14 includes: Skating, rental skates, 10 game tokens each, 1 game of Laser Tag!  Allskate Fun Center, 1313 W. North Street, Jackson.

Nite Lites Christmas Light Show.  Join us for Nite Lites at Michigan International Speedway! Nite Lites is a drive-thru light display spanning 5-miles across MIS property.  Now through December 31.  Michigan International Speedway, US-12 Entrances only, 12626 US Highway 12, Brooklyn, MI 49230 (Westbound use Lot 8 Entrance, Eastbound use Graves Family Entrance).  5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday – Thursday | 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Friday & Saturday.  Cost: $25 per car (Sunday-Thursday), $30 per car (Friday & Saturday), $45 per mini bus, limo, or motorhome, $100 per tour bus.  Cash and credit cards accepted.
