Red Cross Blood Drive.  9 a.m. – 2:45 p.m., Grass Lake High School, 11500 Warrior Trail, Grass Lake.  The American Red Cross has extended its urgent call for donors of all blood types to give blood or platelets. With influenza escalating across the country and preventing some donors from giving, and winter weather threatening to cancel blood drives, the Red Cross now has a critical shortage of type O blood and urgently needs donors to restock the shelves. 

MOPS 4th Annual Preschool Fair.  Have little ones? Thinking about preschool? Come visit with multiple preschools and child focused organizations in one location! Meet staff, ask questions, and gather information along with lots of great resources from many Jackson area schools and organizations. The fair will be downstairs at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1505 W Michigan Ave. Thursday, January 23rd, 11am-12:30pm. It’s FREE and we’ll make the coffee. See you there!

Thursday Night Film Series:  Easy Rider.  Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and Billy (Dennis Hopper), two Harley-riding hippies, complete a drug deal in Southern California and decide to travel cross-country in search of spiritual truth. On their journey, they experience bigotry and hatred from the inhabitants of small-town America and also meet with other travelers seeking alternative lifestyles. After a terrifying drug experience in New Orleans, the two travelers wonder if they will ever find a way to live peacefully in America.  Doors open at 6:30 P.M.  Film Starts at 7:00 P.M.  Admission for Members is Free.  $5 Admission.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Aging Mastery Program.  The Aging Mastery Program will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. This workshop will meet 5 times with presentations from expert speakers and is supported by the National Council on Aging. Gain the skills needed to manage your health, remain economically secure, and contribute actively to society. The Agenda will include: Aging mastery basics, exercise, fall prevention, advance planning, financial fitness, sleep, healthy eating and hydration, medication management, healthy relationships, and community engagement. Join us for a fun and engaging program for aging well!  1 PM to 4 PM, Region 2 Area Agency on Aging,  102 North Main Street, Brooklyn.
