Blade Runner – Beyond the Stars Film Series.  Doors open at 6:30 PM, film starts at 7:00 PM.  Admission: $5 per ticket at the door.  Member Perk: Free for members.  This screening is part of “Beyond the Stars: A Sci-Fi Film Journey,” our film series for dreamers and explorers.  Step into the dystopian world of Blade Runner (1982), Ridley Scott’s visionary neo-noir sci-fi masterpiece. Set in a future Los Angeles, the film follows Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a retired blade runner tasked with hunting down and “retiring” rogue replicants—bioengineered beings virtually indistinguishable from humans. With its stunning visuals and thought-provoking exploration of identity, humanity, and artificial intelligence, Blade Runner remains a genre-defining classic. College Catch-Up Workshop.  9 – 10 AM.  Virtual.  Are you new to taking college courses or coming back after taking some time off and want to make sure you have all the skills to get started? The Jackson College Center for Student Success is offering FREE College Catch-Up workshops to help you: Canvas Training, Learn differences between Canvas and JetStream, Learn to manage your time by building a weekly study/homework schedule, Learn how to download and use Microsoft Office for free as a student! Students will also review basic computer skills like opening e-mail, creating and saving documents, using different Internet browsers and more. We are offering a similar workshop called Welcome to Canvas that will focus on supporting students who are currently taking the course through Jetway or as a part of their Seminar Life in Pathways course.
