The Kiwanis Summer Kids Series presents “Son of Bigfoot” at The Michigan Theatre.   Admission is $1.00 Doors open one half hour before film.  11 AM and 2 PM.  Kids combos available for $4.00.

Ella’s Patio Party presented by Rehmann.  Please join us at Ella Sharp Museum for Ella’s Patio Parties with live music, appetizers from local favorites, and a cash bar. It’s the perfect way to unwind on a summer evening with friends and family.  While you’re here, you can explore the galleries to enjoy our rotating exhibits, stroll through our sculpture-filled grounds or enjoy a 6:30 p.m. planetarium show.  Ella’s Patio Parties are Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m., June 7-August 30. Patio Parties are free for members and $5 for non-members. All ages are welcome.  Entertainment tonight by Steve Trosin.

Movies on the Barn.  Join us at the Ella Sharp Museum for a free screening of “Wonder Woman”, a story set in World War I. Movie will begin at dusk. Please bring your own chairs or blankets, as the movie will be shown outdoors on the East Barn! Beginning at 7:30pm we invite visitors to tour our exhibit, “Jackson and the Great War” to learn what really happened in WWI right here in Jackson. A make and take project will also be available before the screening. Concession stand items, including popcorn, cotton candy, and drinks, will be available for a nominal fee. 

Light Up the City Walk Night.  Join us for food and hospitality from 5 PM to 6 PM.  Boos Center, Loomis Park, 210 Gilbert Street, Jackson.  The walk through east side neighborhoods accompanied by city police and state troopers from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Zumba Under the Stars.  Join the party at The Cascades, presented by the Jackson YMCA, The Cascades, and Jackson County Health Department.  General admission $8 for individuals, $15 for families.  YMCA members $4 individuals, $10 for families.  This event begins at 8 PM and will be held Thursdays through August 30.

Gigantic Sale for Missions.  Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church, M-60, Spring Arbor.  Sale Hours:  Thursday, July 26, 9AM – 7PM, Friday, July 27, 9AM – 4PM, Saturday, July 28, 9AM – 11AM.  Friday clothing, shoes and bedding is $2/bag. Most other items inside will be BOGO free. Saturday all items inside are free.  All proceeds go to support missions work around the world and here in Jackson County!   

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival presents its final weekend of Jackson performances this weekend before moving to Canton.  Tonight, “Measure for Measure” at 7:30 PM, Baughman Theatre, Potter Center at Jackson College Central Campus.  Tickets are info here.

MSU’s Science Theatre presents “Sound Waves”.  The MSU Science Theatre is coming to the library!  Join the Meijer Branch for interactive science experiments, hands-on learning, and more. 1 PM to 2 PM, Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library.

Tobacco and You:  Learn How to Quit Smoking.  Learn about healthy living and how to quit smoking with this free smoking cessation group!  Every Thursday, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  LifeWays Meeting Rooms, 1200 North West Avenue.(Entrance at the back of the building)  Questions?   Contact Chad Lige at chad.Lige@lifewayscmh.org.

Stress Less:  Art Enrichment & Music Therapy.  Use the creative process of making art to improve your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.  Use music and musical elements to promote, maintain, and restore your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health.  LifeWays offers weekly stress less events including music therapy, movie screening and crafts to reduce stress. Each week is a different activity! This is a drop-in style class. No reservations are required. Open to the public!  3 PM to 4 PM, 1200 North West Avenue, Jackson.
