
Summer Band Camp Finale – 11:55 a.m., July 3, Robert Snyder Dining Commons, Potter Center, Jackson College Central Campus. Come support young musicians as they showcase what they’ve learned during summer band camp. Campers will also perform in the Brooklyn July 4th Parade the following day. All concerts are free! Some seating is available, but concertgoers may also bring lawn chairs for outdoors performances. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be held indoors.
4th of July Celebration at Cascades. July 3rd is our Fourth of July Celebration at The Cascades! Gates will be opening at 6PM with LIVE Entertainment to follow at 6:30PM by Atomic Annie. 🎶 Fireworks will begin at dusk. Admission: Ages (4-12) $5 Ages (13 and up) $7 Ages (65 and up) $5 It’s FREE to watch the fireworks from anywhere in Sparks Foundation County Park, but admission listed above will get you into the gated Cascade Falls area to enjoy the entertainment and fireworks show up close.
$1 Summer Kids Movie Series: Despicable Me 4. July 1-3 @ 11AM & 2PM with the doors opening 30 minutes before (10:30 AM and 1:30 PM). Gru and his family are forced into witness protection after his old school rival, Maxime Le Mal, escapes from prison seeking revenge. As they adjust to suburban life under new identities, teenage neighbor Poppy Prescott uncovers Gru’s past and enlists his help in a mischievous heist. Emo Night at Ogma. Hey emo kid, we’re bringing the feels to the Ogma Beer Garden with a summer night of Emo and Pop-Punk covers from The Van Buren Boys! Expect throwback bangers from Thursday, Something Corporate, Akaline Trio, Yellowcard, Finch, Saves the Day, Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, and more. The Ogma beer tent will be flowin’, and we might even fire up the grill. Free show. All ages. Let’s sing our hearts out under the stars. 129 E Michigan Ave, Jackson.
4th of July Celebration on Center Lake. The band will play facing the lake and can be enjoyed from your watercraft! Look for all the boats that will be swaying to the music! Live music at 6 PM and mini fireworks.
40 Years in the Hood: The Detroit Heidelberg Project Exhibition at Ella Sharp Museum. Witness an extraordinary exhibition curated by renowned Detroit-based artist Tyree Guyton, whose work has transformed the art world and inspired communities for over 40 years. Tyree Guyton is best known for his iconic Heidelberg Project, which has turned discarded objects into powerful symbols of community, resilience, and hope. Thank you to the Charles Aymond Foundation and Alro Steel for sponsoring 40 Years in the Hood: Detroit’s Heidelberg Project. Christmas in July Toy Drive. Suburban Lanes is teaming up with the Hot Rod Elves Car Club and getting a jump start on the holiday toy drive they do every year with Christmas in July.
