Jackson College Summer Concert Series:  Capital City Brass Band.  7 PM. Free!  Hear the wonderful brass band tradition when the Capital City Brass Band performs at 7 p.m. on June 15 at Potter Center. Part of the Jackson College Summer Concert Series, this free, outdoor concert will take place on the back patio of the Potter Center. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs, while some chairs are available. The concert will move indoors in case of inclement weather. 

Carnegie Summer Soiree.  4 PM to 8 PM.  Families are invited to join us for on an evening of fun, food, and games on June 15 from 4-8 PM at the Carnegie Library!  Pizza from Klavon’s will be available starting at 5:30 PM. We’ll have several options, including vegetarian.  This event is free and open to the public, no registration required!  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.

Sounds of Summer at Cherry Creek Cellars. 6 PM to 9 PM.  Join us this Summer for our Thursday night music series: Sounds of Summer Presented by Visit Lenawee!  Every Thursday (June – August) from 6 – 9 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best solo & duo acts around. This year’s lineup will include new and returning faces.  Full Cafe’ & Beverage Menu Available. Juneteenth Community Celebration & Resource Fair.  Events happening Thursday June 15-Saturday, June 17.  Today:  Racial Inequitites, Social Justice and Criminal Justice Reform.
Martin Luther King Jr. Center, 1107 Adrian Street, Jackson. Panel discussion featuring experts from law enforcement, criminal justice and community leaders.  All are welcome to this free event!  5:00 pm – Doors Open.  5:30 pm – Program Begins.

Hiring Event for Henry Ford Jackson Hospital.  4 PM to 6 PM.  Join us for Henry Ford Jackson Hospital’s hiring event! The hospital will be hiring for these entry-level positions: Dietary, environmental services, patient safety assistant, nursing assistant/Certified nursing assistant, transport aide, patient registration, customer service representative and lab assistant.  Job candidates are encouraged to bring completed resumes to the events. Members of the College and Career Access Center will be onsite to assist with resumes. The Henry Ford Talent Team will also be present to assist candidates with the online application submission process. Want to further your education? Michigan Works! will be onsite to help identify grants you may qualify for to assist in your education and professional development. If you’re interested in a career at our hospital but can’t make the events, email our human resources team at iamhenrytalent@hfhs.org. This event has been made available by partnerships with Jackson College, Michigan Works! Southeast and the College and Career Access Center. Ladies Luau in Downtown Brooklyn.  5:30 PM – 8 PM.  Don’t miss out! It’s Ladies Night Out in Downtown Brooklyn!  Ladies Luau is right around the corner; Throw your best grass skirt on, and come on down for a little shopping, a lot of laughs, and a good time! Safe Haven Benefit.  WellWise Services Area Agency on Aging presents the 6th Annual Safe Haven Benefit.  3 PM to 5 PM.  Light appetizers, cash bar, live music by Ian Stewart.  Raffle baskets with amazing prizes and 50/50 drawings.  $35 per person or $100 for 4 guests.  100% of funds raised directly help victims of elder abuse and neglect in Jackson, Hillsdale and Lenawee Counties.  Shady’s Tap Room, 110 N.
