
Music on the Patio. 7 PM. Jackson College welcomes the community to a Summer Concert Series on the Potter Center’s “back patio” this summer! For years, the College presented the Front Porch Concert Series. Now, with renovations and improvements to the Potter Center, the series continues on the back patio! Today’s concert: The Capital City Brass Band — featuring professional musicians from Jackson, Lansing, and all areas in-between, the award-winning Capital City Brass Band has been exciting audiences since 2001! This group includes several local musicians who have been part of the Jackson Community Concert Band, played in Trombonefest and/or the Jackson Symphony Orchestra over the years. These free concerts will begin at 7 p.m. Some seating available but bringing a lawn chair or blanket is encouraged. Concerts will move indoors in case of rain.
Michigan Theatre Summer Kids Series. They are back!! Our Summer Kids Series start this week with the movie “Minions”. Doors open 30 minutes before screening. Show times are 11 AM. and 2 PM. Kids combo: Small drink and popcorn $4. Admission is $1. The Kids Film Series is sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Jackson and True Community Credit Union. The series runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with two shows each day.
Red Shield Benefit. Be Part of Feeding a Heart; Get Our Truck Rolling. Join The Salvation Army on June 16, 2022, as we raise money to purchase a new Box Truck and other needed equipment for our Food Pantry. Community Meeting. 5 PM to 6:30 PM. The Downtown Jackson Choice Neighborhood Plan will be centered on the redevelopment of Reed Manor as a mixed-income neighborhood. The process is committed to resident empowerment, diversity, inclusion, and strategic visioning for the Downtown. The Community Meeting will include an opportunity to provide feedback and to learn more on how you can be involved in making the effort a success. Tonight’s meeting will be at the Patio by Building C, Reed Manor, 301 Steward Avenue.
Summer Nights in Leoni Township Park. 6 PM to 9 PM. Summer Nights in Leoni Township Park Thursday June 16th, 6 pm – 9 pm. Live music by Alexandria N’Transit Band, they are a 5-piece cover band with both female and male lead vocals! They are Detroit’s hottest pop rock party band!

Pin-Ups on Tour. 7 PM. PIN-UPS ON TOUR is a good time for a great cause. From the moment guests enter the event, they will be treated to something special. Our goal is to recreate the magic of the Hollywood Canteen that operated during the 1940’s as a club offering dancing, drinks and entertainment for service members, usually on their way overseas. The evening will feature dancing showgirls, Comedy, Variety Acts, Soulful Lounge singers, vintage candy girls and more than a few surprises! Al Glick Youth Football Camp Registration. Register now for the 3rd annual Al Glick Youth Football Camp on June 18th at Withington Stadium at Jackson High School, 544 Wildwood Avenue, in Jackson. Camp will take place from 12 Noon to 4:00 PM, with check-in at 11:00 AM. Cost is 15 dollars per camper and is open to all Jackson County kids entering 4th to 9th grade in the Fall of 2022. All campers will receive t-shirt and draw-string bag, light breakfast, lunch, special guest speakers, and non-contact instruction by current high school coaches and former college and pro players.
