25th Anniversary Uncle Phil’s BBQ. 11:30 AM to 1 PM.  Join us for this fundraiser lunch and enjoy great food from Knight’s Steakhouse, Schlenkers and Virginia Coney Island.  Meals include chicken, burger or Coney with salads, drink and dessert.  All proceeds support Lily Missions Center, Junior Achievement and Lumen Christi Catholic School.  $20 per person.  Located on the back patio of Lumen Christi.

“The Boss Baby” $1 Summer Kids Movie Series.  $1 Admission.  June 16–18.   Showings at 11 AM & 2 PM.  Doors 30 Minutes Before Each Showing.  Bring the family to the Michigan Theatre with The Boss Baby as part of our Summer Kids Movie Series, sponsored by Kiwanis & Southern Michigan Bank and Trust. When seven-year-old Tim discovers his new baby brother is not exactly an ordinary baby, his world gets turned upside down. With a briefcase, a suit and a very big personality, The Boss Baby sends Tim on a wild adventure full of laughs, imagination and sibling rivalry. Ella’s Patio Party.  Summer nights are best spent relaxing outside with friends while enjoying food, drinks, and music. And what better place to do that than at an Ella Sharp Museum Patio Party? Kick off the season and start the summer right at our first Patio Party on Thursday, June 18th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Enjoy live music, good food, and refreshing drinks with friends and our museum community. Look forward to a cash bar, delicious food, and top-tier entertainment from local musician, Marcus Shelton. Free Community Dinner. 5:30 PM.  Join Grow Jackson for a free community dinner at St. Mary’s Community Garden! Enjoy delicious tacos from Crazy Cowboy, connect with neighbors, and take part in a fun evening for the whole family. Dinner, a free bag of groceries for the first 50 people, recipes and nutrition resources, and family-friendly activities will all be provided at no cost. After dinner, stay for hands-on learning about gardening, healthy food, composting, pollinators, and more. Take home items such as container gardens, seeds, recipes, and other resources. JYP June Large Group Meeting.  5:30 PM.  : Consumers Energy Innovation Center Join us for an fun evening at the CMS Innovation center! JYP Members will get a tour of the one of a kind space and then head to the CMS Headquarters in the historic Jackson Post Office!  About the Jackson Young Professionals:  Founded in 2014, JYP has a dedicated group of volunteers running events to engage with and connect young professionals in the Jackson area. The Third Thursday Monthly Meetups offer an opportunity for you to see new places and businesses in Jackson while networking and meeting other young individuals in the area. Dog Days of Summer.  6 PM to 8 PM.  Let your dogs make a splash at the Cascades Splash Pad this summer! This beloved community event is back—and now happening three times! Bring your dog out for an evening of splashes, smiles, and paw-sitively good fun.

Summer Songs.  7 PM. Join the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and Dahlem for a FREE outdoor concert performance! Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and sit under the trees or out in the grass and listen to a selection of summer songs performed by the Jackson Symphony Orchestra brass quintet. The performance will be held outdoors June 18 at 7 pm at the Dahlem Center pavilion (7117 South Jackson Road). Please feel free to arrive early and enjoy a walk on the trails, play at the nature playscape, or stop by the exhibit room and gift shop. *Due to the concert being outdoors, please follow JSO and Dahlem on social media for performance updates if there is inclement weather.  (In the event of inclement weather the concert will be rescheduled for June 25th.) Summer Songs June 18 – Brass ensemble.
