A Night in Paris at Veritas.  6  – 9 PM.  Veritas presents ~ A Night in Paris.  151 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson.  Tickets are $125 here.  Join Veritas as we welcome Chef Emmanuel Saintin and Elisa Weber-Saintin back for a very special Night in Paris! Many of you may remember Emmanuel from the early days of Veritas.  Chef Emmanuel, along with Chef Shari Cruz, will prepare a five course meal along with wines expertly paired by Elisa. This is a one of a kind event you will not want to miss.

Jackson Walk Kick Off Event for JDRF One Walk.  4 PM.  Join us on Thursday, March 23rd for the 25th Anniversary JDRF Jackson Walk Kick-Off event taking place at Jackson Coffee Co. from 4-6 pm!   This open-house style event offers the opportunity to connect with T1D warriors, meet other Jackson One Walk teams, & collect JDRF fundraising materials! Thursday Member Free Movie Night:  A Clockwork Orange”. All Members get in Free every Thursday. Purchase a membership anytime for 30 dollars for an individual (per year). Non members cost is $5.  Doors open at 6:30 P.M.  Film Begins at 7:00 P.M. Film Summary = In an England of the future, Alex (Malcolm McDowell) and his “Droogs” spend their nights getting high at the Korova Milkbar before embarking on “a little of the old ultraviolence,” while jauntily warbling “Singin’ in the Rain.” After he’s jailed for bludgeoning the Cat Lady to death, Alex submits to behavior modification technique to earn his freedom; he’s conditioned to abhor violence. Returned to the world defenseless, Alex becomes the victim of his prior victims.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Singles Night Winter Series at Sandhill 2023.  Are you single and unsure where to meet new people, or know where to hang out? Check out the variety of dates in February & March fitting for your age group and preference!  Bring a single friend of the opposite sex to the event and receive 1/2 off a glass of wine, beer, or cider!  All evenings are 5:30 – 8 pm with the café and bar closing at 7:30 pm.  Tonight:  Singles ages 40s & over.  Come with an open mind and positivity! Open Mic Night at Art 634.  6:30 PM.  Share your talent at Art 634! Poetry, Stand Up, Music, Storytelling, Theater, or whatever creativity you want to show. Monthly in the Main Gallery at Art 634, hosted by a different local artist each month – for artists, by artists! Coffee, tea, cocoa, water. Feel free to bring food if you’d like; and, be sure to bring a friend or two! March 23rd is hosted by Brian Tucker. DinoSOARS!  Change Over Time.  Did you know? Birds are living dinosaurs!  Follow the story of Malkia, a museum paleontologist, as she explores fascinating connections between birds and dinosaurs. Join us as we dive into the theory that birds evolved from dinosaurs!  Showings are: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 11am (Especially for kids!) and 4pm. Admission includes Museum Galleries and Hurst Planetarium Shows.  Adults: $10, Children up to 17: $5, Adults Over 65 & Military Members: $8, Museum Members and Children Under 5: Free.  Hurst Planetarium, Ella Sharp Museum.

Hidden Women of Color.  A Pop-Up Exhibit Featuring the Art of Jerome Washington during March 2023.  Whatever task they tackled, whatever sacrifices they made, whatever boundaries they had to cross. The Hidden Women of Color are women who made a choice to do what they had to do despite the cost.  One common thread that seems to fuel these remarkable women: To help and elevate others.  It has been a labor of love to discover these women, and their achievements and to bring them out of the shadows. The Ella Sharp Museum is proud to feature this pop-up exhibit throughout the month of March. 

Pokemon Thursdays.  We are a group of local Pokemon Trading Card Game players that get together Thursday Nights from 5:30 to 9 PM to play, trade, and enjoy the Pokemon Trading Card game.   We have players of all ages.  Young kids who are just discovering the world of Pokemon to players that have been playing from the beginning.  We can help you learn, and build your deck or your collection.  We also sell Pokemon products.  If you like Pokemon join us Thursday Nights.  The Arena, 1949 Lansing Avenue, Jackson.

March is Reading Month at the Jackson District Library.  March is Reading Month and get caught reading!  Dust off that book you’ve been putting off, pick up an old favorite you’ve already read a dozen times, or start reading that novel you got as a Christmas present because it’s time to celebrate March is Reading Month.  All ages can participate, and everyone from Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney to your favorite barista at your coffee corner is taking part in JDL’s reading challenge. Simply read a total of 4 hours during the month of March to win a free umbrella – just in time for April showers – and also get entered into our grand prize drawing for a wide variety of prizes including pool passes, a Dungeons & Dragons bundle, and more.  You can also snap a picture of yourself reading at any of JDL’s “Reading Nooks,” located at each library branch and tag JDL on social media along with #getcaughtreading for a bonus grand prize entry.  Register for the challenge in the beanstack app or by clicking here

Jackson County Art Teachers Show.   ART 634, 634 N Mechanic St Suite 25, Jackson.  Join the art teachers of Jackson county and their students in celebration of youth art month, and the dedicated educators that inspire them.
