Spring Break Week:  Adventures in Lorehaven.  Explore a dragon’s lair, meet a tree giant, navigate the cursed swamp and much, much more during Spring Break week at the Jackson District Library – March 21-30! To begin your journey, register for the Spring Break challenge in Beanstack. This is where you will track your progress, explore what’s new this year, and earn grand prize entries. You can complete your quest with any combination of in-person and online activities.  Visit as many of our 14 library branches as you like to complete activities and collect buttons from each location. Activities are available until 30 minutes before each library closes during the week of Spring Break. Links to all of the online activities can be found in Beanstack. You will earn a small prize as well as a grand prize drawing entry when you complete 3, 7, and 10 activities (that means you can earn up to 3 grand prize entries)! Be sure to submit your entries into the drawing of your choice in Beanstack.  Looking for more adventures? Invasive Species and Citizen Science.  6 PM to 7:30 PM.  Join biologist Shikha Singh at the Eastern Branch to learn about invasive species and how you can help protect the great outdoors, close to home. This program will have three sessions, each tailored to different audiences. Choose the one that works for you! All Ages, March 26, 6-7:30 PM.  Learn about invasive species in our area, methods of tracking and treating invasive species, citizen scientists, and more. There will be a Q&A after the presentation. No registration required.  Eastern Branch, Jackson District Library, 3125 East Michigan Avenue, Jackson.

Spring Break Planetarium Shows.  If you’re looking for something stellar to do, catch a double feature at the Hurst Planetarium this week only!  Shows run Tuesday through Saturday, see what’s playing:  𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐨𝐧 -Space Aliens: Looking for Life in the Universe.  𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝟑:𝟎𝟎𝐩𝐦 – Mayan Archaeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe.  Hurst Planetarium, Ella Sharp Museum.

11th Annual Teacher and Student Art Show. You’re invited to the JXN Art Teachers & Students Art Show.  Art 634, 634 N. Mechanic Street, Jackson.  Exhibit runs March 23 to April 20 with Artist Reception April 6 from 1 PM to 4 PM.
