Creative Connections.  10 AM to 12 PM.  Patrons of all abilities are invited to join us at the Jackson District Library Meijer Branch for Creative Connections! Activities will vary each month, including bingo, crafts and games. Creative Connections is intended for adults with special needs, though all are welcome.  Questions? Root Station at Enchanted Forest.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Introducing, Root Station, an exciting new musical project! Featuring four individuals who enjoy the music of the ’60s & ’70s, we strive to appeal to a wide range of tastes.   We hope that you can come out and give us a listen. Enchanted Forest Bar and Grill and Banquet Hall, 3705 Ann Arbor Rd., Jackson.

Jackson District Library Get Caught Reading.  Get Caught Reading” this spring and take part in the reading program this March and April. For the second year in a row, JDL is encouraging participants to enter into our annual reading challenge available to all ages. Taking part is as easy as 1, 2, 3:  STEP 1 Read four hours over the course of March and April.  STEP 2 Enter into our grand prize drawing.  STEP 3 Pick a wide variety of book bundle prizes including necklaces, fairy door kits, and more Branch hop with your family to any or all of JDL’s 13 locations, snap a picture of yourself or a family member reading, and tag JDL on social media with the #getcaughtreading hashtag to earn another bonus prize entry.  For a full list of locations, to learn more or to sign up for the challenge, click here.

Books + Sale.  Jackson District Library Springport and Parma Branches.Celebrate Spring and Reading Month with a Books Plus sale! You can shop for adult and children’s books, DVDs, books-on-CD and puzzles.  At the Parma Branch from March 4 thru March 9.  Springport Branch from March 12 thru March 16.  This event is presented by the Friends of the Springport and Parma Branches. All proceeds will help support JDL programming.

“Space:  A Journey to Our Future” Exhibit.  Ella Sharp Museum during open hours.  “Space: A Journey to our Future” showcases the ongoing ventures in space exploration encompassing satellites, celestial observatories, and the intricacies of habitation beyond Earth’s bounds. This immersive experience unfolded through cutting-edge interactive displays, accompanied by state-of-the-art projection and audio technologies that seamlessly narrated the tale.  Notable elements within this incredible exhibit include:  A life-size model of a Lunar Base Camp, offering visitors a firsthand encounter with the lunar living experience.  A close-up inspection of NASA’s Constellation Program, featuring a model of the Orion spacecraft set to transport human explorers on lunar missions.  A compelling illustrated timeline spanning 50 years captures NASA’s pivotal moments in space exploration.  The multifaceted “Future Theatre,” employing multimedia in a 360-degree panorama, provides a visionary glimpse into the prospects of human space travel. “Space: A Journey to our Future” was crafted by Evergreen Exhibitions and presented at the Ella Sharp Museum though May 5th 2024. You are welcomed to dine in with us in Star Hall or pick-up your meal in our drive-thru. Our drive-thru entrance is off from Franklin Street thru the alley. Please note that Wesley Street is blocked off at the alley way. Our 6th Grade class will be selling Soda/Pop for $2.00. Proceeds are to go towards their Annual Class Trip. Dinner is $16.00 each and includes 3 piece fish of your choice, hand battered or baked Atlantic Cod. Homemade mac-n-cheese, seasoned potato wedges and homemade coleslaw!

No previous yoga experience is required. Dress comfortably and in layers to move through standing, seated, and supine postures.
