
Trinity Lutheran Church Annual Harvest Dinner. 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. While there’s some debate among the faithful of Trinity Lutheran Church just when the parish started hosting harvest dinners, the popularity of the annual feast is indisputable. This year’s dinner will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the fellowship hall of the church, 122 W. Wesley St. The meal will feature the traditional fare of roasted pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade applesauce, green beans, fresh-baked pie and beverages. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 5 to 11, and free for children under 5. Takeout will be available. In addition to dinner, Christian books, craft items and boxed greeting cards will be for sale. Trinity is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The parish has a 150-year history of serving the community of Jackson and supporting mission work around the world. 122 West Wesley Street, Downtown Jackson.

As we celebrate our fourth year of bringing more fresh food to Jackson, we invite you to join us to celebrate another year with us. Jackson County Restaurant Week. Experience Jackson presents the return of Jackson County Restaurant Week November 11-17. Twenty-six different local food establishments are participating. Participating restaurants will provide a selection of $15 burger and side menu options throughout the 7-day period, with a variety of locations to experience breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. Patrons simply visit a participating restaurant, request the Jackson County Restaurant Week menu, place an order, and request a punch card. Everyone will get a single stamp for their purchase. Taking a punch card to each dining experience and getting multiple stamps through the week qualifies guests for restaurant gift card drawings following the event. Guests are also encouraged to use the hashtag #TasteOfJackson during the event to highlight images of their experiences. Julia Child: A Recipe for Life. New Exhibit at Ella Sharp Museum. Julia Child: A Recipe for Life, explores the key ingredients in Julia’s personal journey, which became part of America’s culinary revolution, through a series of immersive experiences. Julia’s insatiable curiosity and tenacious spirit drove her to endlessly try, test, and teach how to make delicious food. Learning empowered Julia and she in turn empowered others, profoundly transforming American cuisine and food culture. Julia Child: A Recipe for Life is a traveling exhibition produced and toured by Flying Fish, developed in collaboration with Napa Valley Museum, supported by The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, the Schlesinger Library, Harvard Radcliffe Institute, and generously sponsored by Oceania Cruises.
