Jackson YMCA Turkey Trot.  The TURKEY TROT is an exciting race for all levels and age groups. Choose from a 5K Run, 5K Walk or a 10K Run. We also offer a Kids Run. The TURKEY TROT race will be professionally chip timed with the results right after the race.   Invite your friends and guests to join you on this exciting THANKSGIVING Day Run!  Military and First Responders receive a $5 discount.  Online registration here.  Race day registration begins onsite at 7 AM.  Kids Fun Run at 8:45 AM.  5K Run and Walk and 10K at 9 AM.  The final race of the season of the ORS Run Series.  Jackson YMCA, 127 West Wesley Street, Jackson.

Jackson YMCA Can Drive.  We are collecting canned goods over the Thanksgiving holiday! All are welcome to bring canned goods to the Summit branch and enjoy free classes:  Thanksgiving Day:  9 a.m. – Choose from Cycling with Dawn or Zumba with a team of Y instructors, led by Jen Soper. Classes are 90 minutes.   Summit Branch, Jackson YMCA, Summit Oaks Mall.

Free Thanksgiving Day Meals.  Are you or someone you know in need of a meal on Thanksgiving Day? Churches and organizations within Jackson are hosting FREE meals for the community. The following are places and times where these meals will take place.  Compassionate Ministries of Jackson County is hosting a free community-wide Thanksgiving Day dinner on Thursday, November 28 at JaxNaz Church from 12-3PM. Reservations are not required. JaxNaz Church is located at 3905 Clinton Rd (M-50) in Jackson. Kingdom Life Ministries of Jackson to host at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center (1107 Adrian St.) from 11:00am – 2:00pm. They will also provide transportation upon request. Visit the Facebook page to contact them.  Jackson Interfaith Shelter (414 S. Blackstone St.) to host meals from 11:30am – 12:30pm AND 4:30pm – 5:30pm.
