Award-Winning Author Program. Jackson District Library invites you to join us for an evening conversation at 6 PM Thursday, Oct. 22, with local Jackson author Patrice Johnson, winner of the 2018 National Indie Excellence Award for her debut non-fiction work, The Fall and Rise of Tyler Johnson. This narrative weaves a powerful account of Johnson as a fugitive of the U.S. government for suspected environmental terrorism.  This program will be livestreamed on our Facebook page and Zoom.  The 496-page book, based on the recovered journals of Patrice Johnson’s deceased son, raises a warning flag to youth who may feel tempted to commit impulsive acts that could trigger irreversible consequences. This love story reveals the degradations of homelessness, the resilience of the human spirit.  Copies of the book are available at all JDL locations throughout Jackson County.
