75th Anniversary and Ribbon Cutting.  Family Service and Children’s Aid will be celebrating two milestones.  After purchasing and renovating a new building at 306 West Michigan Avenue, FSCA will have a ribbon cutting at 4 PM with refreshments afterward.  There will be tours of their facilities and guest will have the opportunity to learn about their programs.  They are also celebrating the 75th anniversary of the agency.  They would love to have the community they serve come out and join them in this celebration.

September Free Day at Kids ’N’ Stuff Children’s Museum.  Join us for our September Free Day brought to you by Albion-Homer United Way! From 10 am to 7 pm, bring the whole family to enjoy free admission to Kids ‘N’ Stuff!  301 S. Superior Street, Albion.

Dining with Diabetes.   Dining with Diabetes is a fun and interactive course series designed for individuals with pre-diabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes, members of their support system or anyone interested in learning more.  Participants learn to make healthy food choices and incorporate balanced menus into the family dining experience. Classes include research-based education, cooking demonstrations and healthy recipe tasting.  10 AM, Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library.

Public Planetarium Show:  Imagine the Moon.  Explore the many wonderful sights of our nearest celestial neighbor, the Moon! A brand new show developed by The Adler Planetarium, “Imagine the Moon” takes viewers on a trip to the Moon, while celebrating the 50th anniversary of humanity’s first steps on another world.  Now showing through September 29: “Imagine the Moon”.  Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.  Sundays at 2:30 p.m.  Located in the Hurst Planetarium.  Tickets: $6 adults, $4 for children and Ella Sharp Museum members. Age 5 and under is FREE. Tickets available at the door.

Bar Trivia at Grand River Brewery.   Round up a team of your friends and family at Grand River Brewery for a new installment of spirited–and FREE–pub trivia! Jackson District Library is hosting, but don’t worry, we won’t make the questions too hard. Questions will all be general knowledge.
