Biotechnology in Healthcare Seminar.  6 PM.  Advances in biotechnology continue to revolutionize healthcare. Jackson College invites the community to a special seminar, Biotechnology in Healthcare. Join us at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 in the Bert Walker Hall Community Rooms, 144-145.  Learn from a panel of experts who will shed light on the latest breakthroughs in biotechnology, a field that uses living organisms and biological systems to develop products and technologies to improve human health, agriculture, industry and the environment. We have invited speakers who will summarize some of the recent advancements in biotechnology (e.g., epigenetics, bioinformatics, CRISPR-Cas9 technology, microbiome research), specifically as they relate to healthcare.  Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions. This event is free, and light refreshments will be available.  Walker Hall, Jackson College Central Campus.

Jackson County Art Show. Students from Jackson County Schools, Public, Christian and Charter, will be exhibiting student artwork from kindergarten through twelfth grade, at Jackson Crossing Mall through April 28, 2024.

Reading and Watching the Rainbow:  An All Ages Book and Movie Club. 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  Let’s get together and watch a movie together on Tuesday April 23, 5:30pm in the Auditorium at the Carnegie Branch Library. We’ll bring the pizza and popcorn. You bring a friend.  A book and movie group for LGBTQIA+ families, adults, teens, and allies to meet and discuss stories and make friends in a safe space.  Presented by Jackson Pride Center.  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library, Downtown Jackson.

Technology Help for Seniors.  11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  William Atkinson Hall, Room 218 Join us on Jackson College Central Campus (2111 Emmons Road, Jackson, MI 49203) in room 218 in the William Atkinson Hall weekly on Tuesdays until April 30 from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Staff from Jackson College’s Solution Center will be available to help with your technology issues.
